Muska's Sponsor: Chad's 'N' WORD Was NOT Racist

7/14/2011 11:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Chad Muska's skateboard sponsor is totally cool with the fact he hurled the 'N' word during his arrest -- saying it's ok because Chad used an "a" and not an "er" ... at the end of the racial epithet.

A rep for Element Skateboards -- Muska's sponsor since 2006 -- tells TMZ, "There is a major difference between n**ga and n***** and it's totally obvious he is not being racial at all."

The rep goes on to say Chad has Element's full support.

As TMZ first reported, the legendary pro skateboarder was busted for felony vandalism on Hollywood Boulevard early Thursday morning -- and repeatedly spewed the slur during his arrest.

As for the alleged vandalism -- the rep says it was a mistake ... "especially in front of security guards."

So if the guards weren't there ... no problem?

If this word, "******" <-- was censored, then it was racist...

I'm not a big "race" person. But calling a black man ***** over and over is nothing but racist. And him looking like a red neck doesnt help!

I noticed the idiot stopped tossing the N word when the LAPD showed up. I believe he was coherent enough to know when his ass was going to get clubbed and deservedly so. The security guard should have tasered him.

Anyone who watched the video knows exactly what he was doing and saying. He was spouting out the N-word several times, trying to provoke the two guards into attacking him. I give security props for not reacting to this idiots rant. At first I thought they were detaining Jesus Christ until I heard the N-word. Jesus would never call a black man that.

Ghost Rider

Heres the real deal, Muska thinks he is actually black and he has been that way for quite sometime, so this is typical talk for him. I think he is really losing it now by tagging his own name and all.

Use in language

In practice, its use and meaning are heavily dependent on context.[5] Presently, the word ***** is used more liberally among younger members[6] of all races and ethnicities in the United States, although its use by persons not of African descent is still widely viewed as unacceptable and hostile, even when used without intentional prejudice. In addition to African Americans, other ethnic groups[7][8] have adopted the term as part of their vernacular.

There is conflicting popular opinion on whether there is any meaningful difference between ***** and ****** as a spoken term.[9] Many people consider the terms to be equally pejorative, and the use of ***** both in and outside African American communities remains controversial.[10] H. Lewis Smith, author of Bury that Sucka: A Scandalous Affair with the N-word, believes that "replacing the 'er' with an 'a' changes nothing other than the pronunciation"[11] and the African American Registry notes, "Brother (Brotha) and Sister (Sistah or Sista) are terms of endearment. ****** was and still is a word of disrespect."[12] The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, a civil rights group, condemns use of both ***** and ******.[9]

Some African-Americans express considerable offense when referred to as a ***** by Caucasian people, but not if they are called the same by other African-Americans, or by some other minority, as a term of endearment.[9] In this case, the term may be seen either as a symbol of brotherhood,[13] similar to the usage of the words dude and bro, and its use outside a defined social group an unwelcome cultural appropriation. Critics have derided this as a double standard.[7]

I hate when people try and hide behind the "er" or "a" answer. It is complete crap. That word was created in hate and will always be racist

Let me Guess, "Felony Vandalism", basically riding his board in areas that get damaged and he could care less who has to repaint, repair or redo after he and his cronies have ridden off to damage someone elses rails, benches, and private property, add tagging to the list and no wonder. AN ass with an excuse is still an ass, and apparently one that needs some racial sensitivity training to boot. Huff the paint instead, it might improve your brain, nothing else is working.

It's amazing how stupid people can be so clueless as to think they can double-talk their way out of something that is so blatantly obvious. Straight on American arrogance.

If the guards were white would he have said "*****" at all? What bs.

1195 days ago

He doesn't need racial sensitivity, because that's how it is in the OC, Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice...

They'll do just as this company did - spew some BS and laugh about it! He won't change because hate is cool (badge of "Honour") in his circle!

Well, if you going by basketball player rules, it's okay to use slurs when you're pissed off as long as you don't mean to offend anybody.
