Amy Winehouse Death -- 'UNEXPLAINED'

7/24/2011 9:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Amy Winehouse's death is "unexplained" .. at least for now -- this, according to Scotland Yard.

Amy Winehouse Death
Police issued a statement, saying, "At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained and there have been no arrests in connection with the incident."

TMZ reported yesterday ...  a source connected with the death investigation told us police were "operating under the suspicion" it was an overdose.

Scotland Yard also said, "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to a house in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05 hours on Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased."

And as we reported yesterday, we were told when paramedics arrived there were "signs of life," though we did not have specifics.

Now the post-mortem is scheduled for Monday morning.

TMZ caught up with "American Idol" honcho Nigel Lythgoe who called Amy's passing "tragic."

The only reason its "unexplained" is cause Rupert Murdoch wants to run the story first. So his son has cleared the check to Scotland Yard once again for the sake of news.

Wow TMZ you're so desperate to endlessly suck the blood out of this story that you regurgitate the "unexplained" headline from yesterday and add NOTHING NEW??

PRO US

"a source connected with the death investigation told us police were "operating under the suspicion" it was an overdose."

No kidding, Sherlock.

Of course, they have to do an autopsy and drug screening to arrive at an official cause of death, but we all know it was due to drugs or some combo of drugs and alcohol.

If they want to cover up the real cause of death for some reason, they'll come up with something like "diffuse alveolar damage (from respiratory distress), pneumonia and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickening of the heart muscle) with coronary arteriosclerosis" or some other BS.

Better to cover the 84 Norwegian children. That's what's unexplainable. Anyone who thought Amy Winehouse would live long was probably also smoking crack.

"Unexplained" = "Inability to properly revive someone that had signs of life"

Friggen schmucks !!

I don't think she had signs of life. The guy in the blue outfit was dressed in biological protection gear. Which means she was gone for a while. Uk can't be that different from the US in responding to emergency. If she had signs of life she would be intubated and transported to a hospital.

There's a problem here

"Unexplained" I'm guessing the explanation will be fairly forthright.

On the other hand, there was a huge amount of carnage of innocents in Norway, but where's the fun in reporting that because they're only anonymous people, right Harvey?

Anyway I am very saddened by the death of a 27yr old woman. If you want to fight drugs start with making alcohol illegal. Why do people drink to catch a buzz. You tell me the difference except one is legal and one is not.

I feel genuinely bad that this girl died. A week ago, after reading the story that she had canceled her European tour, I told my mother, "That girl is in trouble, she will be dead within the next month or two if she doesn't get some help" A week later, she was dead. It's tragic that such a promising young woman with so much talent, could be so troubled that she literally killed herself with drugs and alcohol. I hope that she finally finds peace in the afterlife. RIP Amy.
