Has anyone seen Amy´s face on their toast yet? Or will she be appearing on a Wallmart receipt?

RIP Amy Winehouse. I LOVED your music. I thought you were unique and talented enough to be in the same league as Janis Joplin and Nina Simone both powerhouse vocalists and soulful. "Starry starry night..I could have told you Vincent (Amy) THIS world was never meant for one as beautiful as you". May your soul soar high and free with the angels Amy RIP.

The cause of death were all the people around her that never helped her, all those that served her a drink, all of those who gave or sold her drugs.

Daily she was crying out for help and all anyone could do was point their self-righteous finger at her. Like every single one of these losers online that can only nip at the obvious. What is so eloquent about that?

One thing no one will ever be able to take from her -

AMY WAS A TALENTED ORIGINAL. LONG LIVE AMY. RIP.

Too bad so many of you have horrible stuff to say about Amy. It could happen to any one of you or in your families. I guess all of you who are being so nasty have never smoked a joint or drank a glass of booze. I didn't realise theirs so many saints floating around here. Amy was a talented singer and song writer who perobably got mixed up with many of the hangers-on who will do anything to get a piece of a famous person. Look at the clips of the "Frank" era Amy, young, clean, kinda green but with so much promise. Then you go to the "Back To Black" era Amy, it's like two very different artists. I think the marriage to Blake was not a good choice, she went through a lot of changes, a lot of them not good. But another thing, there was a lot of people around Amy who enabled her vices whether it was drugs or drink. Amy paid dearly for her bad choices. I think that is payment enough. No matter what anyone ever says in a derogatory way about Amy, I will always love her & her music.

That's not much of a showing. Seems fans had abandoned her until it was time to mourn.

Just saying

Its a British thing...as soon as someone dies, they come out in droves with flowers, candles, pictures and letters to the dead, hoping the TV cameras will get a shot of them performing this macabre ritual or better still interview them to determine their "pearls of wisdom" on the matter. They also mob their royals motorcades and line the streets in their hundreds of thousands with vacuous looks on their faces..very bizarre. Maybe its the Chavs of all ages that have nothing better to do.

Death is death. Whether she brought it on herself or not, does it matter? Its still sad. Addiction is a disease and its hard to overcome. She was someones friend, daughter and so on. People are grieving this poor girls death. Why make harsh remarks? Why insult someone when they are gone? Have some respect people.

One could almost argue, the real art that this young woman had created wasn’t necessarily the music she had created, but the strange and obscene performance art piece she called her daily life. One can only wonder what type of morbid fascination the public had watching this woman again and again sink into self oblivion. But that perhaps was part of the appeal and expectation that one has of their stars. The idea that it can ultimately lead to a kind of capricious public death, or martyrdom hardly registers until we see the dead woman’s casket being hauled down the street and the world suddenly turns around and grieves violently as the final curtains of this woman’s life, performance comes to a close.

A very bitter close indeed…

Those of you bad mouthing her have obviously not read or listened to what those who know her best have said. Those who are saying that those around her facillitated this - thank you. Before her ex husband came along she smoked some weed - big deal - then she was introduced to the coke, crack and smack and went from the sweet girl she was to the shadow she became.

Yes us brits have a more live and let live attitude and are not as close minded as some of you in the USA who think that drink and drug use make you unworthy of having any inate talent recognised but when someone like AMY dies we show our mourning.

BTW the american music industry must have thought she had something otherwise why the 5 grammy awards huh. Unless you have been through addiction don't bad mouth her and STFU.

Drugs have not yet been conclusively proved to have killed her and were it a smack OD or bad batch she would not have even go the needle out of her vein.

Rest in Peace Amy... I understand... Thank you for sharing your voice as much as you did. You were something that some didn't quite get, but I understand that you had to be the way you were or your songs wouldn't have come from your heart and sounded so sincere, pure and true. Who else could sing about drugs and men and alcohol so soulful without having those demons for real? It made the music mean so much more and it touched me deeply and always will. The world needed to see... and you showed us all so honestly. Thank you... Rest Well Songbird...

There are numerous uneducated ignorant people giving their opinions about addiction and Amy on this site. My suggestion to you would be that you read about mental illness...brain chemistry....addiction and try to be informed. This is NOT the middle ages you morons.Converse with any physician...any nurse...any psychiatrist...any neurologist, etc. about addiction/mental illness issues and you will hear about brain chemistry...the addiction process...concurrent mental health diagnoses, etc.I loathe lazy stupid people who prefer to sit there anonymously and spew forth their pearls of opinionated wisdom about things they know NOTHING about! You all are an embarrassment to yourselves:) Amy was very ill. That is stating the obvious and it was beyond her being able to "kick the habit"on her own. She needed long term inpatient treatment for her addictions and her obvious mood and personality disorders.
RIP Amy.I hope you are @ peace now.

Here we go again, worshipping someone for destroying herself. It is very sad, very tragic that this talented young woman died BUT why do we always turn these people into martyrs? Jim Morrison, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, the list is endless...Heath Ledger received a posthumous Oscar for goodness sake! Stop praising talented people for killing themselves with substance abuse and maybe, just maybe people will learn that it is a BAD THING to throw your life away.
