Winehouse's Bodyguards

Posing with Amy's Ashes

7/26/2011 2:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

In one final bizarre photo op with Amy Winehouse, the singer's former bodyguards posed with a box containing Amy's ashes as they left the crematorium in London earlier today...a family rep confirms to TMZ.

The man in the center of the photo is Andrew Morris -- the bodyguard who found Winehouse's body and called for help.

Winehouse was cremated at the Golders Green Crematorium in North London ... following an emotional ceremony for close friends and family.

Considering Amy's ****** up sense of humour, she'd probably laugh at this.

Another tragedy , another life wasted. You could see the sadness in her eyes. I am truly sorry she never found the help she needed. R.I.P. Amy.

These guys were hired to protect this skank from others people. I'll be willing to bet they never agreed to protect her from herself. She was addict.....she was going to do drugs with or without them being there to protect her.

I have found its not a good idea to judge the intentions of others unless you know the whole story. Loss is never easy.

Leave the bodyguards alone. We don't know the story behind the photo and maybe it's part of their grieving.

The process takes about 2.5 hours to complete. The chamber temperature is over 2,500 degrees. At those temperatures, the body basically evaporates. The most amazing sight is when the chest and stomach areas glow a brilliant yellow as fat in the body ignites. Several times during the cremation process, the chamber is opened and the body is repositioned with a long metal rake so that all of it gets exposed to the furnace. At the end of the process, all that's left are brittle bone fragments. After the fragments cool down (about an hour) a magnet is run over the fragments to pick up any prosthetics such as a metal hip joint, etc. The fragments are placed into a device that turns them into a fine powder, about the consistency of sand.

Ummm maybe its different in UK but I've worked at a funeral home for 6 years and it takes a little longer than a few hours to cremate a body. Then you have to wait for it to cool. We usually give the ashes to family within 36-48 hours. I mean the ashes ARE literally still hot, those bodyguards should be able to FEEL the heat :/ this is very strange.

TheHOLETruth 3 hours ago I see nothing bizarre about that picture, in fact I think it a beautiful act of love. What's bizarre is TMZ, you morons don't understand acts of humanity but would rather turn everything into a scandal.

Harvey & Stooges, Karma is not nice....

^^
I get it too. And who said that these guys sold it. I don't see any of them holding the camera taking the picture.. The photographer sold the pic, not these guys..

Real Jews never ask for cremation :-)
Its forbidden both for religious and cultural reasons.
Hopefully end of a very sorry saga.

Rest in Peace, Amy, you deserve that, at the very least.
Know that the world is full of a**wipes who can't appreciate a young life lost, regardless of the cir****tances, and of parents who bury their only daughter.
You were loved.
Vaya con dios.

I was looking at Amy's vids on YouTube. Couldn't help but notice the comparison between when she first broke out (2004) and later vids. Her accent was not nearly so pronounced in the early videos as in later ones - I could hardly understand her, and it wasn't the slurring (as in drunkenness), she just acquired this heavy, heavy, almost ****ney British accent in later videos - what was that all about, anyone know?

Wow.
The majority of the people throwing in their worthless 2 cents is appalling.
Amy Winehouse was sick. She was an addict. She wasnt able to control the addiction. It got the best of her. She DIED.
It's completely soul-less for those of you commenting hating on her. What goes around comes around. For those of you whom are being so crass here on tmz, I can only imagine your sense of ethics in real day to day life.
