I believe one of Matt's parent's is or was a teacher.

Anon, Did I also mention how every Teacher till Sixth Grade was older than my Grandparents, and was far to old to be teaching? Ill stop now. :)

It seems like he made up his mind on this one: no room for debate, in his mind he must be right; but, if someone disagrees with him on an issue that makes that person narrow minded and obtuse-oh, the irony...

Izzy, that may be true, or they may have SEEMED old. To a third grader, a 50 year old seems ancient. Or, your shamrock trauma means you will never be able to learn. Or both.

I hear when you get older, everyone seems too young for their job. So you've got that to look forward to, along with someone calling you an old person too old for your job.

The ACTOOR is only sort of right. There are great teachers that do it because it what they believe in. Then there are others that can't wait to get away from the little bastards. But since when did acting become a job? Its not a job, Damon. Its playing dress up and make believe and pretending to be something you're not. Maybe someday when you grow up and stop playing you might think about getting an actual job. Like a grownup.

I don't know...this issue is far more complex than what was brought up in this clip. Sure, some teachers love to teach; others like getting summers off. Some teachers have lost the incentive to teach because they've become babysitters for kids whose parents couldn't care less. Some teachers have lost the incentive to teach because they're no longer getting raises and got paid poorly to begin with...and some who don't care about teaching got into teaching because the bar was so low. I think Matt should have at least been able to acknowledge the fact that the quality of our teachers has been diluted by increasingly poor pay and low hiring standards.

Yeah that is right..teachers are not graded and paid on a meritoracy. And arent tenured teachers exempt from being fired? And before he says Crappy salary maybe he should understand that teachers are one of the best paid profession in America with 2 months off and they do not work 8 hours a day. Most people I know who are teachers take the jobs for the union privys no other person enjoys and rely upon government or state subsidy at the expense of the rest of the taxpayers.
The things these teachers teach my children I would prefer to have them learning at home to not be propagandized and maybe they would learn some appeaciation for what makes our nation wonderful.
Teachers who teach well should be amply rewarded and those who are lazy and want to indoctrinate our kids to be servants of the state should be discarded. Matt sounds to me like he wants to run for office..which means more handing out of honest workers cash to pay for big gov.

Matt is a moron...let his children go to public school and have several teachers tell his kids that the only reasons that they are teaching is because they have job security. Some do not care about the education. I have witness this from several schools. I also saw a teachers slap a little girl and she still kept her job. So moron Matt listen and learn something from this reporter. Let see if his kids go to public school and get a decent education.

This is the first time I have ever commented LOL!! SERIOUSLY??? So his mother is a teacher...talk to people who seriously study education ALL over the world! USA is way behind and some over paid actor is the last person to speak of education. LOL.....isn't he married to something like a waitress??? What a joke!! Stick to acting Matty Boy...and just smile and be pretty!! That is what we all pay you millions for!!
