Plaxico Burress

NY Jets Move

Will Affect My Probation!

8/5/2011 12:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0804-plaxico-burress-getty-EX
Moments after Plaxico Burress signed a contract with the New York Jets this week ... the recently released prisoner signed a request to transfer his probation to New Jersey ... where he plans to move ASAP.

After the NFL star was released from prison, Burress was ordered to do his probation in Florida ... where he's been living.

But now that he's a member of Gang Green -- he wants to settle in near the New Meadowlands Stadium ... and the next step is transferring his probation to the NJ State Parole Board.

Law enforcement sources tell us the NJ Board is allowing Plax to temporarily report to them -- while his paperwork is processed and an investigation is conducted.

If Plax gets the official OK, he'll continue to report to the NJ Board until his probation is up in 2013 -- unless he signs with another team ... in another city ... and has to go through the process all over again.

Wow, the Jets already S#CK enough without adding this gun toting moron. The QB seems to have a sick and perverted taste for dating underaged teenage girls (as covered here at TMZ in the past). Whats next??? NAMBLA members and Gang members get front row seats?
The entire Jets organization is the worst of the worst and the laughing stock of The NFL.

"Prisoner" "Released from prison" don't pull another guilty by media like CA case. He shot "himself" TMZ toolbags! Report some quality reliable news.

It'd be weird if I went to pick up bagels one day and Plax gets in line behind me. Dunno what'd I do.
Wonder if Plax is getting any hazing like a rookie would get.
I think I'd plant a loaded gun in his locker. Just, you know, as a joke 'n stuff.

HAHA how do you end up on probation after being released from prison? Isn't that called "parole"? #lawyerfail

I remember the days when the NFL didn't let convicted felons play. Now the NFL might as well stand for "National FELON League" since so many people in it are convicted criminals.

Probation is NOT the same as parole...why can't the media get it straight? They are two completely different entities.

Fair enough. He does a Mr.Bill and shoots himself in the foot (Oh NOooooo) and Michael Vick, a true criminal element in pro football gets accolades. Somethings now correct. And I am not even a Jets fan.
