President Obama

GARGANTUAN Tip

After Burger Lunch

8/11/2011 7:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

President Obama's personal credit rating seems to be doing just fine -- because the Commander-In-Chief slapped down some plastic to cover the bill at a burger lunch yesterday ... and tipped more than 35%.

Obama hit up Ted's Bulletin restaurant in D.C. yesterday where he surprised a group of campaign volunteers who had won an essay contest.

Sources connected to the restaurant tell TMZ ... the President ordered a plain cheeseburger, fries, and side salad ... and an ice cold glass of water to wash it down.

We're told Obama asked for the bill personally -- and picked up the tab for the entire group on his credit card. In total, with tip, Obama dropped over $200.

One person who was inside the restaurant tells us, "He couldn't have been nicer."

The "surprise" wasn't as impromptu as it seemed ... we're told secret service swept through the restaurant with a K9 unit earlier that day -- and the restaurant was closed to the public.

So he tipped well so what? Do you all remember when his wife took a vacation in Spain? Her and her crew spent millions over seas when she could just as easily stayed somewhere in the US and really helped the service industry.

You & I, Tax Payers, are paying for Obama to campaign as he does his little bus tour. He will also near, if not surpass, $1 Billion dollars for his campaign beyond what we tax payers are paying. How many of you have food on your tables? How many of you have jobs? You want 4 MORE years of this? Then re-elect Obama and you'll get it and worse. BTW, when the Bin Laden movie comes out, if it does, I have to wonder if they'll show him waiting 16 hours before deciding to go in and get the guy and if they will show him coming in the next morning with that decision in hand in his golf shoes like he did in real life.

So the Missus can tell you, me & our kids how to eat, they can take our salt away yet it just fine for them to have whatever they want. Seems like Democrats are always like that.

BTW, If we couldn't see Bin Laden's body and they quickly buried him at sea so as to "not offend the Muslims", why the HECK is it OK to make a MOVIE out of it, with access to sensitive material w/the blessings of the White House, to be released - Gee what a surprise - a few weeks right before the election. Such BS. We are tired of the showponies - say one thing, do another. It's not all that different from the I can eat what I want but I'll TELL you what YOU can eat.

I think aj is one of the stoned TMZ Staff Members weaing a Lady Gaga shirt.......silly victim - success if for winners.

Hey aj here's what your sweetheart is trying to do to the middle class:
"Back in April of this year Barack Obama told the press that he “refused to extend the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy again.”
But, he’s not a socialist."
Of course, it was just another lie.
Verum Serum found the actual tax cut breakdown at CNN Money:

Bush tax cuts: $544.3 billion…The bulk of that cost — $463 billion — is for the extension of cuts for families making less than $250,000, including two years of relief for 2010 and 2011 for the middle class from the Alternative Minimum Tax.

The rest — $81.5 billion — is attributable to the extension of cuts that apply to the highest income families.

In other words, 85% of the tax cuts went to the middle class.
But, Obama didn’t care. He needed a talking point.

And Liberal (What's in it for me) people like you are just to stupid to know what is really being done to you.
Fool.

Its funny that your name is commonsense, since you seem to possess none. the 80's was NOT the best economic time. try the 90s under Clinton. Reagan started the ball rolling on the income gap between the rich and the poor. he got the ball rolling on deregulating wall st. Started the useless and very expensive "war on drugs" He also caused huge budget deficits, quadrupling the United States national debt. Don't believe the hype that Reagan was some god, the right wing love to view him as so.

Mark Weisbrot, co-Director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, said that Reagan's "economic policies were mostly a failure"; with Reagan's detractors accusing him of creating a range of fiscal calamities such as widening the wealth inequality to the point where the richest 1% of Americans held 39% of the nation's wealth, a rise in the poverty population from 26.1 million in 1979 to 32.7 million in 1988, and an increase in homelessness to 600,000 Americans on any given night. Yeah Reagan was awesome lol. And now im not a TMZ staffer, nice try tho. But I can bet you are a white guy most likely middle aged maybe in his 30's. Who believes the ignorance that the likes of FOX News spew. You're an absolute idiot and I will not be responding to people with IQs of that lower than a small rodent.

Wow...the ignorance just stuns me. Seems like Fox & pals have their minions at work anytime there's something mentioned about the President. People, WAKE UP!! Do you think Fox & the Republicans care about you?! You talk about no new taxes & then cry about how our elderly don't have enough money for meds. How do you suppose we pay for that? You say create jobs. Well, those big businesses are shipping their jobs overseas or to other US states that tax them the least. The Republicans sure don't want their donors to suffer, so it won't be them. The Dems are afraid of the *******gers, so they won't do anything. Our country is being held hostage by racists lunatics!! Yes, I said it. RACISTS. The only reason there is any uproar on policies, initiatives that the President supports is b/c he's BLACK. Anything he says/does is not good enough & viewed w/mistrust.

PEOPLE: Gang at Fox, *******gers, Republicans have you FOOLED! How many people are going to get affected by most tax increases? Not many. How many will benefit? EVERYONE. How do you think we pay for good roads, public schools, police, etc? You want jobs, you need to pay for the people who provide the services we take for granted. Not saying the Dems have all the answers. They're a bunch of wimps w/no backbone. Very disappointed in what they've failied to do.

Go out & read. Stop being brainwashed by RACISTS. Take your blinders off & do something for yourself & your country.

It's funny you got the letters in youor name backwards JA.
Here put this in your Medical Marijuana Pipe and smoke it.......
"Obama Added More to National Debt in First 19 Months Than All Presidents from Washington Through Reagan Combined, Says Gov’t Data
In the first 19 months of the Obama administration, the federal debt held by the public increased by $2.5260... trillion, which is more than the ***ulative total of the national debt held by the public that was amassed by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan."

These are just the first 19 months JA. Imagine what it's like now!
check out obamaspending.org and wake up. How many times has he been on vacation? How many times has he gone golfing? How many parties has he had in the White House?
You keep trying to blame Republicans if you want - it was the Democrats that held the purse strings for the last two years of Bush's Term. And trust me ALL POLITICIANS ARE FRICKING CROOKS! But when brain dead fools like you keep making excuses for a DB like Barry Sortero it's just sad really.
I think you were one of the only 300 people who bought a Chevy Volt - that was also shored up financially by Tax Payers.

Brain dead? I guarantee you I have a higher IQ than you. and the blog you told me to go to, looks like nothing more than sore loser Right wingers. The deficit was so large cause the wars were off the books until Obama came into office. From 2000-2009 that was ALL bush policy. Its funny that Obama gets the blame when it was Bush and the idiot Republicans who ran our economy into the ground. The power to fix or ruin the economy resides with the House of Representatives. The Republicans controlled the House from 1995 to 2007. Once W Bush was elected, the Republican power play of House, Senate, and White House pushed through an unaffordable tax cut, deregulated the financial industry, and ran two full blown foreign wars off budget. Not only was the operating surplus abolished, a series of enactments that undermined the economy and more than doubled national indebtedness were proposed by the Bush White House, sailed through Congress, and were signed by a smiling and completely clueless GW Bush. Everyone but the nerds was surprised when the house of cards collapsed in 2008.

In 2009 the Democrats took over the House and the Oval Office, but failed to achieve cloture in the Senate. The determined Republican Senate bloc opposed every Presidential proposal to preserve and restore the economy, and succeeded in watering down the economic stimulus that, if enacted, might have reduced unemployment to 8.5%. Instead, only one fourth the recommended spending was enacted,. leading to one fourth the expected benefit - the recession per se stopped but the recovery is and remains weak. Democrats had 49 days with cloture and used it to pass a grab bag of health insurance reforms, 2/5 of them Republican ideas, which will save at least $500B off Medicare expenditures immediately and lower Federal costs by a trillion over ten years. There is even a provision that, if it works, will save Medicare altogether. The Republicans oppose this one
Democratic success and lie shamelessly about its content and consequences.

What the economy needs now is a responsible House of Representatives, one that deals with actual facts of government instead of misnomers like the debt ceiling and the 2012 budget. The only thing that counts, if you want to save money, is appropriations. The debt "ceiling" is after the fact - freezing it does not cut up the credit card, just the already due bill. The Congressional budget process is a charade because enacted appropriations do not follow it at all. More revenues are the fastest way to achieve solvency, current spending having been enacted last year and this years enactments being spent next year. Taxes are now too low on the top two percent of earners. The conflation of personal with business income is another lying trick - businesses can avoid taxes just by hiring more help.

Republicans created the mess we are in. They prevented its cleanup during Obama's first half, They are now devoted to scuttling the tepid growth we have now in the hope that the Democrats will be blamed again in 2012 as they were blamed in 2010 for the actions of the Republicans in robbing from the middle class to give to the rich.

@commonsense, the 80's were 30 years ago. Do you realize how many more people we have now than then? Do you realize how technology and outsourcing have wiped away so many jobs that existed then but not today? Do you think the internet did not change commerce of this country in a million ways? Things change as time passes. Nothing stays stagnant. Things become more and more efficient. We cannot sustain the population the way we used to.
