Performing at MJ Tribute Concert

... Via Satellite

8/22/2011 11:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

just joined the growing list of A-listers performing at the upcoming MJ Tribute Concert in Wales -- but unlike the rest of the line-up ... she'll only be a glimmer of her former self.

Promoters behind the "Michael Forever Tribute" in October just posted the announcement to their Facebook page -- Bey will perform one of her favorite Jackson 5 songs ... via satellite.

Sadly, Beyonce couldn't perform live due to scheduling issues -- but this is almost the same, right? Right?

Did you guys know that Beyonce and Michael Jackson once dated back in the days? Beyonce and Michael even danced at one of P. Diddy's lavish white parties. But Jay-Z was chasing Beyonce at the same time and she soon became his girlfriend while MJ walked away with a broken heart.

"Did you guys know that Beyonce and Michael Jackson once dated back in the days?"
So Beyonce
Used To Look
Like A Little

....and you are the little black kid grinning with a fried chicken leg to your mouth.....come on admit it. your are jealous of Michael because your father wanted you to enter show business doing fried chicken ads... Just like the one in your post(s).....Yes, I know it's the one you constantly post as a reflection of your childhood dreams've transferred that frustration onto michael.....ohwell, a little black kid forced to earn money for his family in fried chicken ads,,,,,only to end up angry, empty, irregular and ignorant...

I'll buy the dating part of the story. We all know Michael's reputation for the married ladies.....Yet he'd just walk away from a "single lady" crying?????? not buying that one bit. Not to mention the fact that Beyonce has nothing but head over heels love and admiration in her heart for michael.....
Knowing how PDiddy/Puffy etc handles himself publicly, he would have most certainly made it known if he in fact took any woman from Michael (jmo)........Sorry not buying your take entirely on Michael and Beyonce....

The situation with the Michael Jackson tribute concert ‘Michael Forever’ has finally reached a boiling point with fans, and many are now calling for the gig, set to take place on October 8th at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, to be cancelled.

The concert has been dogged with criticism from all quarters. The timing of the event came under scrutiny from Michael’s brothers Jermaine and Randy Jackson, which was always going to result in some of the most militant of MJ fans refusing to attend and boycotting the event. Following blunder after blunder including the announcement of KISS being added and consequently removed from the line-up, as well as a very misleading charity donation scheme, it looks like the only fans who will be buying tickets will be JLS, Craig David and Christina Aguilera fans – great, but nothing to do with the main man himself. This concert currently looks more like T4 On The Beach than a tribute to the King of Pop.

Sharing that thought is the largest online Michael Jackson fan forum, which boasts thousands of members. The community site put out a statement this week saying that they didn’t support the concert, and they “urged” fans to boycott the gig. With such a large section of fans already turning on the organisers of the show, and the largest fan forum telling MJ lovers to boycott it, who is actually going to turn up?

The event’s official Facebook page won’t be bringing many more fans... it has around 3800 members - a good 68,000 short of the 72,000 tickets due to go on sale for the gig, with a large chunk of those 3800 people there solely to condemn and dispute the gig with the helpless admins. The registration process, bought in to give fans a “fairer chance” of getting hold of tickets, seem like overkill right now. Unfortunately for the promoters, tickets for Michael Forever seem to be about as desirable as a street riot.

In fact, the process of getting tickets has been so poorly advertised and handled, that it’s caused the registration period to be extended yet another 72 hours – days after they were initially forced to postpone the registration by a few days after the organisers failed to tell anyone who would actually be performing. Not to mention the fact that no-one really wants to spend a Kings Ransom to see another glorified X Factor lineup, jiggling around on stage for 4 hours.

And, as if the fans not supporting the concert wasn’t enough, Michael’s estate have also publicly made it known that they aren’t supporting the show either. They even published an open letter they wrote to Global Live Events for all to see, confirming that the organisers couldn’t use Michael’s name, image, songs or property during the event, which certainly puts any live global TV rights and merchandising in to serious doubt.

Now, I’m not an event organiser myself, but I know I’d have a tough time putting on a Michael Jackson tribute show without being able to even use his name, image, likeness or songs during the event. This is probably why the concert is called ‘Michael Forever’ – it doesn’t contain his full name because the organisers didn’t have the rights to use it. In fact, none of the official pages or sites for the show uses his full name or image. Don’t expect to get your hands on any event merchandise with the Michael Jackson name or Michael’s image on either.

So who DOES support Michael Forever? The supporters of the gig within the Jackson family are Katherine, Michael’s 81 year old mother, and a selection of Michael’s siblings – notably La Toya Jackson, Michael’s sister. She is a founder of a US-based media company called Ja-Tail – the company employs Paul Ring as President of Ja-Tail Interactive, and VP of the group’s Business Development. This is according to the Ja Tail website - ( For those of you who don’t know, Paul Ring is also the US director of Global Live Events, the organiser of the concert. Could this be why La Toya is supporting the Michael Forever event? It has huge profit potential if it’s done right, as we pointed out in our previous feature.

And money is what the Jackson family need if reports are to be believed – the famous musical family are said to be in massive debt. Michael was believed to have died with over $400million debt, and although he continued to make millions of dollars after his passing, his family didn’t. Rumours are that some of the Jackson family now have normal, day-to-day jobs. Apparently, Tito Jackson plays shows with his blues band for just $500 a show, while Jackie set-up an Internet clothing business that unfortunately didn’t work out, and he’s struggled with money ever since. There are reports that Jermaine declared bankruptcy in 1995 and hasn’t earned significantly since then. Katherine Jackson, probably the biggest supporter of the show, has already received $100,000 payments in the form of trust funds for her children.

Putting all this together, it seems as though the Jackson family are simply in need of a huge pay day – and Michael Forever certainly has the potential to generate a ‘huge pay day’.

Putting the fans, the estate and the family aside, the concert still isn’t appealing to the general public. The line-up generally consists of UK talent show winners, obscure bands and has-beens - like a glorified X-Factor winner’s show. I didn’t know Michael personally, and again I’m no event organiser, but I am certainly confused at the addition of names like 90’s pop-group 3T, American rock band Alien Ant Farm, and Craig David (who hasn’t really done much since the days of ‘Rise and Fall’). No prizes for guessing how 3T got on the bill. And apparently, if you’ve been on a UK talent show, you’re almost guaranteed a spot headlining the Michael Forever concert – JLS, Alexandra Burke, Diversity and Leona Lewis will all be performing there too, and I’m 90% sure Michael or the majority of his family will have never heard of JLS or Alexandra Burke. Even the actual big names, like Christina Aguilera, and less so Smokey Robinson and Cee Lo Green, have relatively no allegiance to Michael Jackson, they don’t represent anything about him and, in the worlds of Global Live Events themselves, this concert is supposed to “remind everyone just how amazing a talent Jackson was.” Then again, they also described the gig as “the biggest and best concert in the world”.

When you look at all of the facts and take everything in to consideration, it’s more than fair that the fans aren’t happy with the promoters or the concert. What could have been spectacular now seems like a damp squib. Poorly executed and without the necessary support from the estate needed to make it a success. A quote from the promoters ticket registration terms and conditions says “Tickets for the Concert are expected to sell out very soon after they are put on sale.” However, it’s possibly more likely that tickets won’t see the light of day and the concert won’t even go ahead.

And with ticket prices ranging from £55 for restricted view upper tier seats, to £240 for the best seats in the venue, this may be good enough reason, during tough economical times, for many fans to reluctantly stay away from the event.

Will you be buying tickets for the gig? Can you even afford to go? Or will you be boycotting the show? Let us know your opinions on the Michael Forever concert in the comments below

Cupla things about Michael Forever Concert:

1) All signs point to LaToya as the driving force behind this fake charity concert. See the following fan posts from official Michael Forever facebook page:

I saw this comment in an article - "Tribute was started by LaToya Jackson and her company Ja-Tail; officer of her company is also VP of Global Live; don't fall for it; this has nothing to do with Michael or his children, it has everything to do with the Jackson siblings grabbing the brass ring as they have all their lives. Anyone have jobs for backup singer hasbeens? Disgraceful." So.... LaToya! Who knew!
Fans against Michael Forever Tribute Eric Bute started a "tribute" (again) do***entary about Michael last year, and interviewed some followers and Jackson family members; then he directed Latoya's latest video. He's now the US CEO of GL. Paul Ring works with Latoya in Ja-Tail. All informations are in the screen caps saved in the picture section of this page. So when the Jacksons said they were approached by GL and didnt know them, it's just another blatant lie.

2) LaToya, the Jacksons and Global Live Events don't give a damn what the fans want or don't want. They are determined to proceed with this concert because all they care about is the money. Media reports keep saying that fans want to know how much, if any, of the TICKET REVENUE will be going to charity. The ticket revenue is just a drop in the bucket. GLE needs to tell us how much of ALL of the revenue generated from this concert (e.g., sale of broadcasting rights, DVDs, CDs, concert books, other merchandise, theater revenue, etc.) will be going to charity. See HuffPo story below:

Jackson concert organizers reach out to unhappy fans

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The organizers of a controversial Michael Jackson Tribute concert said on Tuesday they were going ahead with the event, but they offered disgruntled fans the chance to air their concerns in a global conference call.

"We are 100 percent going ahead. We will continue to announce names for the line-up. We are moving forward and now we will try to address issues that have been raised by fans," Juliette Harris, a spokeswoman for Global Events Live told Reuters.

Harris said members of verified Jackson fan clubs will be invited to take part in a conference call on Tuesday, August 30, in which promoters of the October 8 tribute in Wales will try to allay their concerns.

OK... as of right this minute registration to get scammed for tickets is due to commence in 34 minutes.

TODAY... August 24, 2011.

Their site STILL says: "The Registration Period will last until 24:00 on 21st August 2011" not 2 INCHES above the "timer"! LMAO!

OH... and, you can "text to win" two ACTUAL tickets (supposedly) hotel accom. and even 500 euro spending money even! Oh, but.... UK and Ireland ONLY are eligible. Wtf.. LOL!

This "selling" of tickets starts happening, and the concert gets cancelled ... what do you figure the odds are those funds will be refunded.

Uh... Z-E-R-O. The site even says so, so DAYUM. ANYBODY falling for this SLOP AZZED NASTY POS J CLAN GIG, that's RAPING the memory for Micheal, damn right deserves the slam they're going to feel when they find out they've been laughed at all the way to the bank at this point.

And, to PAY to see Beyonce via Satellite? That kinda **** is for PAY PER VIEW TV, m'k! And, HELL NO she's not going to be "live" = it'll be PRE recorded, produced, lip synced, FAKE etc... and, they expect fans to pay a ticket price that it for LIVE IN PERSON entertainment.

WOW.... Just WOW.

Are YOU one? J Clan KJ et al in cahoots with their puke scam artists LaToya/GLE is counting on it. Step right up!

DONE n G'Nite.

Oh wait... what? LMFAO! First this THEN g'nite...

Just clicked on that "timer" thing that HAD a 34 minutes left to count down. NOW the timer had "CLICK TO BOOK" .. clicked it for the hell of it to see what their convoluted booking/purchasing system would actually look like ... but.... OOPS... whatcha get when you click "CLICK TO BOOK" is............ wait for it...........

HUGE black exclamation point with a RED circle around it, in front of THIS: "Sorry!"

"There has been a problem processing this request. Please use the refresh button on your browser to try again. Thank you."

On FB there are people that have already bought tickets (how the hell was THAT possible, when JUST 34 mins ago, it said "countdown to booking" (sure, ok! LOL!) have NO clue where their seats are and are asking in their posts where they are located in the venue and looks like their getting no answers! Even those that HAVE bought tickets apparently have some serious reading comprehension skill issues because there are posters left and right TELLING them that there will be NO "MJ" tunes as they are not allowed (maybe some J5... but, without jermaine and such...LOL) nor, MJ pics, merchandise with "MJ" ANYthing yet they still are convinced that's what they've spent their money to see/hear!

Like I said: J Clan play the "Sucker born every minute" scam, then again... those STUPID enough to fall for it imo deserve to lose their $$$.

Oh... and GLE will conference with ticket buyers/fans IN A WEEK to address whatever concerns they may have. IN A WEEK.

Wow. And, don't tell me ANY of the J Clan didn't KNOW that GLE is strapped tight in with LaToya. PUHLEASE! No sucker HERE.

NOW, DONE... and hopeful as hell that the J CLAN will be DONE also, SOONER rather then later.

Finally. G'Nite.

I think that sums it up quite nicely.

They should rename this the "Money Forever Tribute Concert."

No respect for the fans. GLE is waiting A WEEK to hold the conference call because one of the issues is who else is gonna be there. GLE is hoping that they'll be able to throw a net over some "world class performers" and drag them into this thing in the next 7 days. And this "conference call" is likely to be one way: you shut up and listen, and we give you the PR BS that we've been cooking up for the last week -- no questions allowed (just like their original press conference).

And not only do fans on the Facebook page not know where they're sitting, some of them want to purchase less than their original number of tickets; unfortunately the fine print said that if they do that, then the "per ticket" charity pledge made will still apply to the same number of tickets they originally requested, so they're on the hook for all the extra pledge money.

Beyonce has publicly dissed Michael and the Jackson family with her remarks about her privileged upbringing and how her parents didn't use her like the Jacksons' did. That was an insult to Michael's memory and she should remove herself from the lineup. This is almost as bad as Gene Simmons. Apparently the promoters don't care about Michael's memory or reputation; ca$h is king here.
Saw it and it was more of a slam on Joe's decision to guide and drive his children than anything against Michael........nice try.......but no cigar.......
Beyonce loved and adored Michael completely.

Hi Nan

Saw Letterman. Kinda funny. I did not see or hear anything in which Pdiddy dissed Michael.
He was Michael Jackson no invitaton or introduction required. Most rap artist admired "Mike" as well... Michael was there to "holla" at Bey!

btw: Per Beyonce she first met Michael when she was about 3 years old after one of his shows. The world knows that Bey paid tribute to Michael in every city on her 2009 world tour.
