Skinnygirl Margarita

is Full of CRAP ... says Lawsuit

It ain't just Whole Foods that has an issue with the ingredients in Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Margarita -- now, a class action lawsuit has been filed against the company that owns the brand.

In the suit, filed in federal court in California, Reneta Bonar claims she and many other people have been duped by Beam Global Spirits for making "deceptive statements" on the label of Skinnygirl.

According to the lawsuit, Beam advertises the drink as "all natural" -- and claims it contains no preservatives. But Bonar says it's all BS because the drink contains a preservative called sodium benzoate.

Skinnygirl was recently yanked off the shelves at Whole Foods -- after the market decided the drink was not using all natural ingredients.

Bonar is suing to force Beam to "engage in a corrective advertising campaign" ... and pay unspecified damages.

Beam has issued a statement saying, "In today's litigious society, nothing is surprising. The litigation filed in relation to the labeling of Skinnygirl Margarita is frivolous. We will defend our case vigorously, and we are fully confident we will prevail."

The drink tastes AWFUL....nothing even close to a margarita much less an all natural one. Tastes more like lemonade gone REAL bad. Lawsuit or not BF should be ashamed of herself for marketing something so awful. I bought a bottle - like an idiot! and had to throw it out. But she's laughing all the way to the bank. Oy.

Ok people. if you were to look at every single product that is labeled like that, you would find that over half include unnatural ingredients. Although they should have to change the labeling on the product, the gov't doesn't have all day to do this. Buyer beware. Just make them change the label, end of story. Why all the stupid lawsuits that waste time and money.

OK... we are not talking about baby food here. Why are food purists drinking alcohol anyway? They should stick to water. By the way, i tried the product and it is undrinkable. I had to pour it down the sink.

The phrase "all natural" is not defined by the government. You can basically call anything natural. The implication of the word natural is that it is wholesome and good for you.

Whole Foods is always crowded inside, never enough parking outside, and over-priced. Worst of all, the patrons, the check-out clerks, and even the weird-looking baggers, have their heads so far up their own asses, it's obscene. I stopped going when the grocer removed Orangina from its shelves... ********.

Besides the sodium benzoate, any label that says "natural flavors" is deceiving you. You can call something a natural flavor even if it is 99% artificial and produced in a lab.

One possibility is when they ought it out from Frankel, they changed the formula to make it more profitable for them. COmpanies dso that all the time.

So you're drinking liquor but you're devastated because it's not all natural? If you're worried about your health then put down the hooch, idiots.

It's not that anyone was being "harmed" by the product,(although I about hurled when I first tasted it) its about false advertising. How do I get in on this class action?!

Beam is now paying the price for being taken in by this money grubbing fraud. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the 'All Natural' claim started with her and they didn't want to mess with it's selling point. Who on earth believes that a product with alcohol in it is all natural?
There's a reason nobody pursued this type of bottled margarita in the past - it tastes like battery acid and will have no repeat buyers.

If you're stupid enough to drink in the first place (with the science in place showing how harmful it is and how it dehydrates you and sucks out every vitamin), but think that getting a certain "label" of alcohol will somehow make it "healthier" for you, then you really are stupid.....

She need to pay big time for her lies!!! As Americans, we need to stand up for ourselves. We have to tell companies that we are not going to be lied at about the things we consume even if it is alcohol! We don't like to be lied to!
