Jose Baez

Casey's Lawyer Now Defending

Aruba Suspect Gary Giordano

9/13/2011 3:25 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Casey Anthony
's attorney Jose Baez must love a challenge -- because he's been retained to help defend the main suspect in a Maryland woman's disappearance in Aruba.

Gary Giordano remains in jail on the Caribbean island ... held as the principal suspect behind the mystery of Robyn Gardner. Giordano has claimed Gardner got swept out to sea when the two went snorkeling on August 2 -- she hasn't been seen since.

We're told Baez is currently in Aruba -- and has already met with Giordano.

Baez will NOT be the lead attorney in the case -- but will consult with Giordano's trial team regarding the forensic evidence in the case.

(CNN) -- Casey Anthony's acquittal on murder charges was a sign from God that her daughter Caylee's death was an accident, Cindy Anthony said in a television interview aired Wednesday.

Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother, told television host Dr. Phil McGraw that "there is something seriously wrong with my daughter." But she told McGraw, "I'm not going to be her judge and jury. God is her judge, and he let her free."

"I prayed to God for three years to find out what happened to Caylee, and I prayed during the whole trial that God would give me closure and if Casey was responsible for Caylee's death, that Casey would go to jail and be punished," Cindy Anthony said.

"And when that verdict came in and Casey was free, I got my answer -- that it was an accident," she said. "And I believe that justice for Caylee was when her mother walked."

But while she said she believes Caylee's death was an accident, she dismissed the defense's argument that her husband, George Anthony, helped cover up the girl's death.

"I don't believe that for a minute," Cindy Anthony said.

Caylee was last seen June 16, 2008, but was not reported missing until July 15, 2008. Her skeletal remains were found five months later, in the woods a short distance from the family's home in Orlando.

After a lengthy investigation that became a media frenzy, Casey Anthony was acquitted of first-degree murder in July, but found guilty of four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to law enforcement officers. She has remained out of the public spotlight since her release from jail, but is on probation for a 2010 conviction on check fraud charges.

Cindy Anthony's comments were aired in the second part of a lengthy interview that began airing Tuesday on the syndicated "Dr. Phil" program. Cindy Anthony and her husband, George, told McGraw they differed on how their granddaughter died, with George Anthony saying he believed Casey had help disposing of Caylee's remains.

George Anthony said he suspects his daughter "or someone else that she was with" may have drugged Caylee to put her to sleep so Casey Anthony could "go out and have a good time," resulting in the girl's death.

Cindy Anthony expressed surprise at the assertion, telling McGraw, "It's the first time I've heard it, and we've been through this for three years."

Something is fishy if baez is involved in any capacity. hopefuly this time the jury will render the correct verdic.whatever that may be. baez is the flavor of the month. All that will change once he loses a case. And that will eventually happen. then the headlines will stress his failure as a lawyer. Just when did he obtain certification to practice law in Aruba.?

Jose Baez reminds me of Inspector Clouseau. He won the CA case despite his significant limitations. In the procss, he, like Clouseau, hurt many people, (particularly George Anthony) except Clouseua was oblivious and Baez MALICIOUS. Like Clouseau, Baez won by accident. The jurors were inept. Baez did not win because of skill, he won because the verdict was a blundering travesty.
Giordano is playing Russian Roulette.

I owe you an apology. I was mistaken about Casey's whereabouts. It seems that you were correct - she has been in Mexico vacationing for the last several weeks. I fail to understand how or why she is - because that is in direct violantion of her Parole terms. She is suppose to remain in Florida for 1 year, seeking employment, and stuff. No Doubt this is Baez's doing, but still - why is she recieving special treatment? And you were also correct in thinking that Lee was an accomplice to Caylee's death. The authorities are looking into charging him. So once again, I apologize for being wrong.

Also, Judge Perry ruled today that Casey must pay the State of Florida back almost $100,000.00. So that is some good news anyways.

Casey Anthony has been ordered by a judge to pay the state of Florida $97,676.98 toward the costs from the investigation into her missing daughter, has learned.

Orange County Judge Belvin Perry ruled on Thursday that Anthony, 25, must pay the costs since she was convicted of lying about Caylee’s disappearance to law enforcement and causing them to look for her missing daughter when she knew that the toddler was already dead.

Casey’s defense team claimed in the opening arguments of her trial that Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool on June 16, 2008 and then said she told lies to cover up her death.

I cdould not agree more! That is such BS about her not recieving any special treatment! And here she is vacationing in Mexico! I would love to hear an explanation from the Probation Dept. as to why she is out of the State of Florida for one, and two, why is it she is not being forced to look for employment, a resisdent, etc. according to the terms of her Probation? And you know that Pimp Baez is behind all this BS!

Also, I really hope that if Casey cannot pay the State of Florida back all that money that Judge Perry ordered her to pay - I really hope that they send her A** to prison for it! Why should she get a free ride for all of her lies and deception?

Then too, I see that they are looking into possibly charging Lee & that Jesse Grund guy with being an Accomplice to Murder. They are still investigating all that! But, even so, why should they possibly be charged and go to jail while Casey gets acquitted and walks free? Talk about your BS!

And then you have Cindy & George comming up with excuse after excuse and more and more lies to protect their darling little Casey - and not giving Caylee a second thought! This whold thing - an the entire Anthony Family - along with the people there in Florida - just P**S Me Off to NO END!!!! So Damn Sick of All This BS!

Never been Scuba diving, but in the vidio of him running from the water to the beach to the resteraunt, looks as if he is dry and wearing sneakers, no wet sports, or sandy mess from his shoes and shouldn't he be dripping?

I want to know how Baez can be on TV and say he is Giordano's lawyer when he is not licensed in Aruba? He has been on the Today show twice and they introduce him as Giordano's lawyer. He is not licensed in Aruba. And yes he loves letting the criminals free like Anthony. What kind of man is he? Doesn't he think about Caylee? Probably doesn't care.
