Scarlett Johansson
's lawyer is on the attack -- warning a bunch of websites that Scarlett owns the copyright to her HACKED nude pics and anyone who doesn't take 'em down will FACE HIS WRATH!!!!

TMZ has learned ... Scarlett's attorney -- legal pit bull Marty Singer -- has fired off threatening letters to various sites including TheDirty.com ... demanding that the sites remove the "stolen copyright protected private photographs" immediately ... or face legal action.

Singer claims, "The highly personal and private photographs at issue capture our client self-posing in her own home in a state of undress and/or topless."

And just to make sure he's perfectly clear, Singer concludes ... "If you fail to comply, you will be acting at your own peril. Please govern yourselves accordingly."

TheDirty tells TMZ ... the site will adhere to Singer's request and take down the photos.

As we first reported, Scarlett's people have contacted the FBI over the photo hack and the feds are investigating.

This is just more of the same worn out, cheap tactic at self promotion to help boost a lagging career. They were "leaked" deliberately. If you didn't want anyone to see them then you shouldn't have taken the pics in the first place, much less store them on your phone. If this doesn't work for her then the sex tape will be next... or perhaps THAT will be tomorrow's predictable headline. Pathetic.

Already saw them. Unsurprisingly, they are not anything special.

This is a complete invasion of privacy, and whoever is responsible should be charged but she looks awesome and has nothing to be ashamed of, at least it isn't a sex tape.

WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN NOT TO TAKE NUDE PICS OF THEMSELVES WITH THEIR CELL PHONE????????? ANYONE WHO DOES DESERVES TO HAVE THEIR PHONES HACKED AND THE PICS PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET!!!!! I do not condone hacking, but seriously, when will all these idiot celebrities learn not to do this!!! All I can think of is what Reese Witherspoon said at the MTV awards "if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed and if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face." GOOD ADVICE!!!! TAKE NOTE HOLLYWOOD STARLETS!!!

Greasy haired, yellow tooth, no life hacker and unethical porn sites. Now there's a match spawned in the deepest pits of hell. Add in the freaks that get off on watching someones personal property used to debase them and you have the perfect unholy triumvirate.

Don't believe the crap. This reeks of a publicity stunt, and apparently people are buying it.

Good luck in that mission, those photos are here to stay, right now they are sitting in a lot of hard drives, good luck trying to convince people to erase them. Better not to take nude photos of yourself airhead.

IT is a bit crazy to think that you can remove ALL of the copies from the internet...some relatively unknown sites will keep them up for years. and let's not forget those that download the pics and will most likely share them with all those willing.

but the important thing about this: she did not deny that they are real. she want her private pics taken down.

which rationally means: they. are. REAL.

I just don't get it. How can anyone claim that pix were highly personal and private ..... when they were, apparently, uploaded to a highly public and potentially vulnerable location.

I have a question. What the exactly are the intentions and purposes of takeing these nude photos of themselves to begin with? They are celebs, it's sort of asking for trouble. April Brower
