Conrad Murray Trial

Michael Jackson Video

Proves Singer Was a Wreck

9/20/2011 4:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray want to show jurors just how worn down Michael Jackson was in the weeks leading up to his death -- and their proof ... MJ's blowout announcement for the "This Is It" concerts.

MJ held the news conference on March 5, 2009 ... announcing he would perform his last 10 concerts ever in London that summer ... insisting, "When I say this is it, it really means this is it."

Murray's defense team filed legal docs, claiming the video shows Jackson was rapidly deteriorating, both mentally and physically, when he made the announcement.  They're asking the judge for permission to show jurors the video, to prove Michael was literally on his last leg ... several months before his death.

Murray's lawyers also think the video is relevant because Jackson was "adamant" about performing only 10 shows, and that subsequently adding 40 dates to the schedule may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Good grief. You guys are acting like Murray forced this drug on Michael. MJ was a drug seeker and doctor shopped. He finally found someone who was willing to get him the drugs he needed. So far - I have not seen any proof that Murray was the one who last injected Michael and that is crucial to the states case.

Why would Murray administer that large of a dose all of a sudden? I think Michael might committed suicide or he woke up from a sleep when Murray was out making phone calls and injected himself.

Murray is just a scapegoat. Hopefully the jury will be rational and acquit Murray. Everyone goes after Murray, but it was Michael - who was the drug seeker.. If he would have never trolled for drugs, then he'd be alive today.. Period.

It could have been suicide or Michael accidentally gave himself too much of a dose and it was an accidental death.

Why is everyone cool with all the allegations against Michael-- in this case..a drug seeker who had all types of devices up for his children to witness.. Why is it ok for Michael to do the things he did? He shares a lot of the blame, since no one was forcing to go out shopping for doctors.. and no one forced him to keep getting zonked out on propofol.

It is his fault. Period.

@Rogue_warrior - apparently they think it is okay to diddle little boys, as long as you're a "pop icon". Regardless, I think suicide too, but MJ might have just given himself too much of the drug. Whatever the case - manslaughter charges should have never been brought against Dr. Murray.. The government is just caving to the lynch mob and wasting tax payer money. MJ clearly sought someone out to give him this med and is responsible for his own demise.

Is everyone forgetting the IV pole with the IV bag that had a large open bottle of propofol in it?? Murry disconnected that bag and told the body guard to put it in the duffel bag with the other bottles that he collected in an attempt to hide the meds. Why would that IV bag be hanging on the IV pole with that large bottle of propofol in it, if Murray was injecting small amounts of the drug. Makes no sense. I think Murray had MJ hooked up to it and walked away thinking MJ would be ok till he got back.

Here's a math problem. Murray bought x amount of large bottles and x amount of small bottles so why don't they count how many bottle are unopen, divide the bottles from the start date to the death date to see how many bottles were actually used in that time frame?

First off MJ was found not guilty in all 14 counts by a jury of his piers and that trial was in 2005 and it is over. It has nothing to do with Murry and his actions or lack of actions here & now which is the reason he is on trial. Bringing up the 2005 trial is nothing but a lame attempt to defend a so called doctor who knew better.

It doesn't matter if he was a mental or physical wreck...it doesn't matter if he had terminal cancer. He died of a propofol overdose with unmonitored vitals.

They don't need to prove that Michael administered it to himself. The defense just needs to poke holes in the prosecutions case. The defense NEVER has to come up with another theory or proof of an alternative theory. They just need to raise reasonable doubt -- most likely by discrediting the prosecutions witnesses.

Janar, where is the proof that Murray administered the fatal dose? It does not matter if he administered propofol a million times before - all that matters is who administered the dose that killed MJ. I don't buy that it was Murray because the amount of propofol used was WAY over the normal amount and Murray surely knew that. Allegedly Murray would administer the propofol slowly in multiple doses to keep MJ awake. He knew what he was doing, so why would he all of a sudden decide to overdose MJ?

It doesn't add up.

It does not matter what kind of "shape" MJ was in - the question at hand is "Is Murray responsible for MJ's death, period. The rest is PR & media hype, totally irrelevant to the point. I think Murray definitely is responsible, based on the facts I know of - and common sense.

I agree Barb. Its real convenient how some are forgetting about this setup. And for the one who said Murray knew what he was doing (lanie). Yeah right. He knew alright. He knew so much he knocked Michael completely out and than walked out of the room. That sure sounds like someone who knew what he was doing. (barfs)
