'X Factor'

Parents Org Goes to FCC Over Dong-Exposing Contestant

9/23/2011 7:35 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"X Factor" ... more like XXX Factor ... if you ask the Parents Television Council -- which is now promising to file a formal indecency complaint with the FCC over the contestant who dropped trou on stage last night.

In case you missed it -- a wannabe singer named Geo Godley whipped out his junk in the middle of his performance on the show ... and it all aired on X Factor. Producers added a graphic to cover the guy's man zone.

But PTC President Tim Winter is furious ... saying, "If Godley performed his act in public, he would have been arrested. But if he performs it in front of a Fox camera, his act is beamed via the public airwaves into every home in the nation."

He adds, "The prolonged, previously videotaped footage of a contestant dancing nude on the ‘X Factor’ stage represents a conscious decision by the producers – with the approval of the network’s broadcast standards department – to intentionally air this content in front of millions of families during hours when they knew full well that children would be watching."

"Families were led to believe the 'X Factor' would be family-friendly programming and instead were assaulted by graphic nudity."

"And while we understand the entertainment hook that comes from the occasional train wreck, something so inherently and patently offensive as this obscene performance is more than a sucker punch; it is a violation of Fox station’s broadcast licenses."

“Finally, the fact that Fox assigned a content rating of TV-PG DL for a naked man frolicking around on a stage is not just inaccurate, it is fraudulent. We call on the amorphous Content Ratings Review Board to immediately investigate this incident and hold Fox accountable for violating the spirit and the letter of the content ratings system, which can only be described at this point as rigged and blatantly inaccurate."

I'm a parent and my children do no*****ch "reality TV". IMO, there is not a reality show on that would constitute appropriate viewing for children. If you want to let you kids watch one of these shows then use the DVR, watch it first and get ready to hit fast forward when necessary. Parents control the remote, not children. And why aren't these kids in bed on a school night. Try parenting,it works.

Geo says that he had a g-string on during the event.

Still, successful troll is successful.

I don't know why everyone acted so *disgusted* as if they've never seen a **** before... Sure, it's gross that it happened, but Paula making the gagging...

No worse than the butt blur on the season opener of Two and a Half Men.

I am very surprised that such an act was allowed to continue for such a long time. Security should have taken him off right away, but instead Simon allowed him to continue without saying "Get off the stage or Take him off the stage". On top of that he was annoyed at Paula because she walked off. The whole thing should have never been allowed to happen. Who screens these people anyway because someone else lost a good spot to show us how much talent they had.

I knew this was Simon's "brilliant" publicity stunt the second I saw it. His fake look of "dismay" was absolutely pathetic. This fool must really think he is smarter than the world, that he could pull this off as an "accident" and be flooded with free publicity, all at the expense of our children's well being. Well Simon, your plan flopped! Not only did it not become the big "hilarious" media sensation that you planned, but now you have alienated many viewers, and hopefully gotten yourself into very ho*****er. Fool.

I absolutely agree with the Council! Simon Cowell should have never aired that footage! My 5 and 9 year old children love to watch Idol and now X Factor with us and I'm so happy they were in bed when this aired because I would have lost it. It doesn't matter if the man had some leopard thong on. I have a 5 year old daughter and even alluding to some grown man's penis is NOT acceptable. As far as I'm concerned, that man flashed ALL the children in X Factor's audience and if my kids were there I would have called the police. I'm usually pretty chill about things but it really, really pisses me off that Simon would be so worried about his ratings pursuit and beating Idol that he would compromise his integrity so badly.

They stop good performances in the middle of the song, why the hell did they allow this guy to go on and on. They should have escorted him off stage as soon as he dropped his pants. Anything for ratings.

Oh please... information surfaced that this guy, Godley was wearing a G-string. Offensive as it may STILL be, just shows exactly how far these clowns will go for bigger ratings. Controversy equals numbers but in the case, it crossed over the "How weird is Paula" line to "How Sad Do We Look, Really?" pathetic side. I was under the impression that the censoring was due to the nudity factor because of the way Fox/AI edited the footage. The claim that Godley makes, that he wore a g-string, does not lessen the nauseating visual. First off, g-string or not, it was IMPLIED nudity. Why let it continue for as long as it did? Why AGAIN, are they wasting our time with no-talent attention whores? This was planned editing, for the sake of controversy and ratings. It backfired spectacularly. Had it been well-done, I wouldn't be writing. But that, combined with Reid's underwhelming and over-emoting skills, plus the fact that there's nothing REALLY new here makes this show and its' "stars" a major FAIL. There is better out there. The Voice, at least bases talent blindly. Here's a link to the story: http://www.eonline.com/news/naked_truth_pantsless_x_factor_guy/265871#ixzz1YvM9ZAsw
