Southwest to 'L-Word' Star

Passengers Complained About

"Excessive" Lesbian PDA

9/26/2011 2:42 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0927_leisha_hailey_SW_EX
Southwest Airlines
claims it only kicked a lesbian "L-Word" actress off a flight today after multiple passengers complained about her "excessive" affectionate behavior with another woman.

As we previously reported, Leisha Hailey went on a Twitter rampage hours ago -- claiming a flight attendant booted her and her GF for kissing on the plane ... because SW is a "family" airline.

Now, SWA has released a statement ... explaining, "Initial reports indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive."

The statement continues, "Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."

Still, SWA notes, "We are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectation."

Good job Southwest!!! passengers do not have to suffer from this ghastly sight by witnessing another being eating the mouth of another. get a room of rent your private plane!!! if you have preference with the same gender don't flaunt it by way of being offensive to most of the people.

They were not kissing, they were eating each other. And SWA tried to protect them from hurting themselves

I don't even like seeing hetero couples going at it in public. Why should homo couples be any different? Keep it in the bedroom.

Sounds like SW is trying to save face, not get boycotted by gays, who percentage wise, have more "disposable" money to spend with less of a need to pay for a bunch of screaming brats in airplane isles. I am sure no child has been informed that his/her behavior has bothered anyone and any parent that lets their child act like an *******, we all know, are ******** themselves so there is no use in telling them about their little spoiled brats disrupting the other customers. They can always pull the trump card "Oh, they are just being kids" just as many Christians back up their ******* behavior with "In the bible it says". So, it is a no win situation for everyone, unless you are a heterosexual white person or family who can get dark-skinned people and gay people tossed from a plane, or anyone else. It must give them a rush just like when the KKK used to hang black people and their supporters, when it was clearly outlawed, they still felt above the law. It all boils down to conservative Christians in the USA believing they run the country and should be treated better than all others, heck, we fund all their churches and schools and organizations to travel the world trying to convert people and even get gays killed legally, like they have been trying in Uganda and other places for decades, where they have been unable to do that here in the USA, even though they are still trying today. I support rounding this pigs up and eliminating them or sending them to a country that will.

Get over yourself. It is not "ALL" about you. You were escorted off the plane for over excessive affection in public. Seeing straight people engage in overly excessive affection is just as offensive. If it bothers other people, where is your compassion? When did your rights get the right to overlap and take over others???!!!

I'm no fan of PDA and I don't disagree with Southwest, however, No one can deny that there is probably a lot more hetero PDA going on by famous and non famous couples. I find it sad that if Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore or some other straight couple were kissing on a flight the passengers would be taking pictures not complaining (no matter how excessive). The passengers are the problem not the airline.

So...Has a straight couple ever been removed from a flight for PDA? I doubt it!
