"American Idol" alum Chris Daughtry is hoping to actually make a little money off his Oak Ridge, NC home -- he's listed the home for just $900 more than be bought it for five years ago!

Chris bought the home back in 2006 for $690,000 ... and he's now put it on the market for $699,900.

The 4-bedroom, 4-bath house sits on more than two acres of land -- and includes an office, a walk-in pantry, a saltwater pool and a putting green.

Chris

I didnt go to college but my high school math tells me that $699,900 minus $690,000 is $9,900, or $100 less than $10,000 or 10K. Not sure where all the people posting about the math went to school, but .... just sayin'

Harvey, I can understand that you can't afford to pay people with grad school educations, but please try to insist on at least a GED.

The mistakes by the weekend staff are becoming inexcusable. Get an editor if you're hellbent on keeping the GED grads!

There's nothing like a peek into a celeb's home to see what complete losers they are. This one is no exception. When you have a cookie cutter colonial on a piece of farmland in a depressed town, it's best not to install squirt fountains in the pool to make it appear classy.
I take it his wife did the decorating. Boredom + white women + sponge = disaster.

Morons.

After the commission to his agent, he's still losing big on the sale, even if he gets asking.

Do the real math... really! Your headline got it right. The body of the text... not so much. 699,900.00 - 690,000.00 = $9,900.00.. .almost 10K. You guys really need to go back to basic math. Grade 2 students could figure this one out.
Meantime... good for them... not looking to make a million, just trying not to lose on the realty fees when they sell. Sounds like a great deal. Someone should snap it up.

Hey idiots he won't make a dime Most realtors get 5 percent on a house price like that which would be 34,995 - 699,900 === he wouldn't make a dime and he would clear 664,905 IF he got what he was asking wow TMZ is full of morons

Who's really at fault here is the editor!!! He/she should have caught the math error. Perhaps no one at TMZ proofreads these stories. That would explain a lot!

This is down the block from my parents house....very unassuming. HOWEVER, his NEW house in Oak Ridge is crazy sick. It sits so far away from the road you can barely see it. Guess touring with Bon Jovi pays the mortgage!!

You should see Clay's 3 million $ mansion on 9 acres with his own lake. This is nothing.
