Hank Williams Jr.'s Son

Talk Politics

10/4/2011 6:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Hank Williams III
Hank Williams Jr.
's son -- Hank Williams III -- doesn't think his father should have opened his mouth about Obama yesterday ... telling TMZ most musicians are "not worthy" of a political discussion.

TMZ spoke with HW3 -- and punk rock-meets-country singer -- who tells us, "The only person out there worthy of mixing political views and music is Jello Biafra."

FYI -- Jello Biafra is the original lead singer of the legendary punk rock band Dead Kennedys ... who is now a big shot political figure in the Green Party.

As TMZ previously reported, Hank's dad's famous "Are You Ready for Some Football" jam was yanked from Monday Night Football last night ... after HW2 went on Fox News and proclaimed that President Obama and Joe Biden are "the enemy."

When we asked HW3 about his political views, he told us, "I'm a musician ... not a politician."

Why is it when a liberal celebrity says something political that the right has a fit under the guise that celebrities shouldn't get involved in politics. Yet when a conservative celebrity says something the right likes his is "right on" and "just exercising his freedom of speech".

Junior should be standing behind his dad, but apparently he decides he can one-up daddy and be the wiser man. No.

Politics is a mess in your country, and as a high profile artist, I am sure Hank Sr. feels he's doing his patriotic duty in calling attention to your politics, at this VERY TRYING TIME for America.

Your system is broken, and the politicians continue to jostle for position in a broken and corrupted system.

Some people are to blame. Whether Hank Sr. has that part of it right is not the most important issue at hand - but having the American people WAKE UP and realize they need a DRASTIC righting of the ship to occur to avoid future national economic disaster.

True artists go against the grain for the good of humanity. They don't flow with the grain, to keep the peace. The American people thank you for your courage Hank Sr.

No an entertainer shouldn't talk politics but they asked so he told them what he thought. I do believe the last time I checked we still have freedom of speech. As far as this little twit living off of his grandfather and fathers name needs to take his own advise and shut the heck up!

Just more proof that liberals only believe in free speech as long as it's what they think. As soon as anyone attacks the Obamessiah, it's suddenly not alright anymore. But calling Tea Party members terrorists and Nazis is fine. Give me a break. I'm surprised they didn't also call him a racist on the way out, since that seems to be the only thing liberals claim anymore. Keep blaming everyone else but yourselves, libtards. It's not like the newest poll shows 37% of people thinking Obama will be re-elected, and 55% say the Republican will win or anything. Oh, wait, it did.

I wish entertainers would stick to acting, singing, dancing or whatever and leave the politics to the politicians and the news reporters. When I am watching a concert I don't want them to start talking about something that they are not paid to be doing and that I did not pay to hear.

It's really not his place, nor his business what his father talks about.

Shelton Hank Williams III has made some of my most favorite music in the world w/ his old band ASSJACK! His pupils are that big cuz he's prolly been up for days doing blow and god know what else. He lives the life he sings about. And how cool to see mention of my other HERO....JELLO!!!! There's always room for JELLO....and a RIOT...and a WINNEBAGO WARRIOR! And if you think III LOOKS like Hank Sr., you need to check out his old school country albums and it'll blow your freakin mind! LONG LIVE III (and JELLO).

We are all citizens of the USA. Republican and Democrats alike, not enemies. We have been at war for 10 f'n years with the "enemies". Your neighbor who has a different political view than you is not an enemy. If the extreme right wing and *******gers don't understand this then our country is in real trouble. III for President!

The real ignorance is being shown by the people jumping on HW2 for a comment that was misunderstood and over sensationalized. He used an analogy! The question was re: the golf game between Boehner and Obama with Boehner's name coming first. When he said them playing golf was like Hitler and Netanyahu playing golf, it was an analogy. Would people have assumed he was name calling if he had said they were like oil and water? And if he had been name calling, it would have been Boehner he was calling Hitler because of the order of the names.
People think for yourselves. Quit listening to secondhand info and repeating it as fact.
