ESPN to Hank Williams:

YOU'RE FIRED

10/6/2011 7:38 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Hank Williams
The Monday Night party is over for Hank Williams ... ESPN has just fired the singer, days after he compared President Obama to Hitler.

ESPN had already pulled the song from Monday's game while they mulled Williams' fate -- but now, it's permanent.

ESPN released a statement, saying, "We appreciate his contributions over the past years.  The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue."

As we previously reported, Williams went on Fox News earlier this week, and referred to Obama and Joe Biden as "the enemy."

He later called his comments "dumb" -- but never really apologized for saying them.

I guess we don't have a right to freedom of speech anymore in this country. Sad.

Hank has proven that he is absolute garbage. This joke has a right to say whatever he wants, but a company doesnt have to endorse him. I would like to hear more of his ramblings. Maybe this clown and Rush could get together and spout off their hate on a show. Good comedy stuff from these two biggots, but the even funnier thing is.....THESE TWO CLOWNS ARE SERIOUS???!!! I think they both must have burnt out all their brain cells on those prescription pills...HEY HANK.....Better start doubling out on those meds!

Are we done saying that the President, any President, is "the most powerful man in the world"? Because it's examples like this that suggest that the most powerful men in the world are the ones running major corporations. You can bash the president all you want thanks to the protection of free speech, but don't you dare cross the ones that sign your paychecks. That's where the power is. The people we depend on to get our food on the table have us muzzled and under control.

Hank Williams is a redneck. Fine. Get your jokes out of the way. But he's still a guy that was punished for speaking his mind, whether you agree or not. He could have just as easily been any one of you. So regardless of what you think of rednecks or where you political loyalties lie, you have no excuse for not being on Hank's side on this one.

I'm SO SICK of the double standard that exists when it comes to politics. How many entertainers and celebrities threw around horrible descriptions and accusations about President Bush and is was deemed acceptable because it's free speech? Why is this any different? The PC police make it different because this idiot is half black so we aren't allowed to be critical of him which is a load of crap!

Williams has the right given to him by the Constitution to say what he wants. That's the country we live and thank God for it. However, ESPN has the right to fire him for saying things that can put their company in a bad light.

He was just giving giving an example of polar opposites. How many times was Bush compared to hitler and Nazi's and nothing happened. George Lopez called Sarah Palin "A worthless piece of ****" and nothing was said and he kept his show. This is a very slippery slope the left is on. The backlash could be real bad. The thought police are here. If you don't believe as they do, it won't bode well for you. This is how the country will be torn apart. Be very careful of the silent minority (they used to be the majority)

QUESTION..........

If you can loose your job for saying something dumb (I don't think his analogy was dumb) then WHY....WHY....DOES OBAMA AND BIDEN STILL HAVE A JOB??????????????? Talk about saying something dumb. That's all that ever comes out of Obama and Biden's mouth......ESPN you are dumb for not understanding what Hank was saying in his analogy.

Maybe now entertainers will stop politicizing everything and just sing, dance, tell jokes...whatever their JOB is. Leave the politics to the news guys.

So much for ESPN respecting Freedom of Speech. Everyone wants to make this about race but it is not, its about the ignorance of our politicians. Hank was right, our blue collar families are getting poorer and poorer, but receive no help. Other people can sit on their butts, not work and the government supports them. What is this teaching the future generations of this country? Its teaching them that they don't have to lift a finger, the government will support them!! I fully support Hank and yes just in case you're wondering, I am Southern!!!!!

This closet case can say whatever he wants and so can any other American. ESPN just doesnt have to endorse it. Nobody is trying to say Hanky cant say any more stupid things to show how much of an idiot he is......its just no sane person will stand by him while he proves himself an idiot. Hank needs to double up on those meds with a couple of Jack chasers. Do society a favor Hank and overdose already!
