Ryan O'Neal's Son

Equipped with Monitoring Device

Ryan O'Neal
's 26-year-old son Redmond got one hell of a parting gift during his sentencing last week for a probation violation -- a state-of-the-art GPS monitoring bracelet.

Redmond's probation was revoked in September -- after he allegedly snuck out of rehab and ordered drugs on a payphone -- and last week, a judge sent him back to the treatment facility ... with the monitoring device around his ankle.

According to law enforcement sources, the device sends back detailed information about Redmond's whereabouts every five minutes -- and if he steps outside his assigned area, an alarm goes off.

Redmond -- who's had a long history battling drugs -- pled no contest to drug and weapons charges back in August ... and was sentenced to a year in rehab.

If Redmond screws up again, he faces up to six years in prison.

Going to prison is the wrong way to go. Now is the time to find God. Do something with your life that your Mother would have been proud to say "that's my boy". Prove everyone wrong that you're not a loser.

Oprah wrote a letter to the judge begging for leniency. Once his probation is over he'll go right back to it.

Depending on the amount and type of drugs this guy used, this could go beyond anything he may control. Certain drugs can alter the brain or permanently damage the brain causing psychosis etc. This may be an addiction now that is far from a choice for him. He may end up institutionalised. He really should be checked for brain damage.

Get yourself some therapy Redmond, you badly need it. Think of what your mother would say to you about this, I mean seriously, you are only hurting yourself

As long as the current rehab doesn't focus on what did happen to him down at the mexican boarding school he was forced to attend, they will not be able to help him to deal with his addiction.

Research show that a lot of the alumnis have similar problems and the course should be a totally wrong kind of therapy given by the therapists down there. Instead of guiding the students away from drugs they somehow got students interested in drugs they had never even heard of before they came to the boarding school.

Everybody can google "Casa by the Sea" to confirm it. This school is also mentioned several times on a blog where many students speak of a stay at a boarding school which got terrible wrong:
