Addiction expert Dr. Robert Waldman -- the defense's penultimate witness -- said Michael Jackson became physically dependent on the pain killer Demerol in the months before he died.

Waldman said Jackson received "unusually large" amounts of the highly-addictive drug during at least 24 visits to his dermatologist between March and June, 2009.

Waldman also said one of the symptoms of withdrawal from the drug is insomnia... a condition MJ was known to suffer from.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff went over medical records from MJ's dermatologist -- Dr. Arnold Klein -- which showed each time Jackson went in for a botox  and anti-perspiration treatments -- relatively painless procedures -- he got a boatload of Demerol.

MJ started his "treatments" in March 2009 ... getting 200 mg of Demerol per visit. By May, he was receiving 300 mg.

During an extremely tense cross examination, Waldman admitted he couldn't say for sure whether MJ was addicted to Demerol ... but he would diagnose him as "dependent."

I don't disagree with most of that but only the first item implicates him on the actual charge. That is all you need though.

Not that it makes a difference but Murray did not necessarily have to leave MJ's side to use the phone. I always thought he may have been using the phone so he don't fall asleep and possibly fell asleep at the wrong moment. It's not easy watching someone "sleep" each night without getting sleepy yourself.

THEN, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN JOB IF HE KNEW THAT HE COULD NOT HANDLE IT!!!

I think this guy did a great job. Did you see the prosecutions hands when he was cross examining this guy. Shaking like crazy. Gay prosecuter and lesbian sidekick.

It was a pattern of MJ's dermatologist to give him pain killers at high doses and for a prolonged period of time, for procedures not indicating the need for it. It was only a matter of time as to which dose and which medicine and which physician would be the one that caused serious malfunctioning of organs and death. It was russian roulette and the doctor that finally shot the fatal bullet was Murray, but it could have happened at any time with any medication and any doctor, with this kind of treatment.
MJ needed to be given therapy for his anxiety so that he could sleep, and he needed to be taken off pain killers and anesthesia, but he was enabled to continue this risky type of mistreatment. He should have been discouraged not helped to continue this death wish lifestyle. And even teh Dr. who gave him the last few nosejobs clearly were not saying, "stop" when they should have done so. Many of MJs doctors apparently let him down.

Oh and the idea of getting 24 Botox injections in 2 months is just ha ha ha ha! Two injections in 24 months would be more like it. My educated guess is that the Botox injections were just a pretext to get his dose.
