YouTube God Ray William Johnson

The Internet is Powered By Cats

11/8/2011 10:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1108_ray_william_launchRay William Johnson is a cyber-legend -- with more than 1.4 BILLION views on his YouTube channel -- and last night, he revealed a shocking secret about the Internet ...  IT'S CONTROLLED BY CAT PEOPLE!!!

Johnson -- who hosts the YouTube series "Equals 3" -- tells us, nothing goes viral faster than a video with a hapless feline (or a cute baby) ... and if you can capitalize on that, you'll be making bank as a YouTube star in no time.

RWJ also takes credit for launching Nyan Cat to infamy -- a viral video with nearly 50 million views (below). What have we become?

Let me get this straight, he is a legend for stealing other people's videos and hosting them on his own YouTube channel?!

Correction! Ray William Johnson is a cyber thief -- ripping off more than 1.4 BILLION YouTube channels. Fixed!

It's funny because the interviewer knows next to nothing about Ray and get's just about everything he asks wrong. You can tell Ray knew the guy was faking it.

Actually, I think they are called the Lion People, and there supposed to be from our future. Read a book on it last year, weird stuff.

TMZ should do a story on how much Ray earns ripping off TV shows and other people's Youtube videos. $6,000 - $9,000 a day isn't a bad earn for a thief.

Actually, the Nyan Cat video already had several million views before RWJ came along. Attack of the Show and Collegehumor were the first sites to pick up on it and were the ones that gave it the initial pu***** needed to get where it is. Also, the Nyan Cat song was already a huge hit in Japan a full year before the actual Pop Tart Cat existed. RWJ did help its popularity eventually but him claiming to take credit for it is definitely not true.

Also, the "internet is governed by cats" phrase has been around for a long time, as well.

must be nice to make money off of everyone elses work. He doesn't create the videos and he doesn't even find them himself. He has other people submit them and then throws them into his own video with some craptastic unfunny commenting and effects. But a bunch of teenagers worship him for some reason.

I enjoy Ray's videos but I've never understood why he's become the mos*****ched YouTuber. It's really weird.

Ray is funny cute and interesting to look at. Instead of screaming like a cat (usual voice in TMZ) I watch Ray and follow his clips. They are not necessary the funniest videos but Ray talks about them in a comical way.
