Penn State

Mike McQueary will NOT

Coach Against Nebraska

11/10/2011 9:07 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Mike McQueary
Penn State has announced receivers coach Mike McQueary -- the man who witnessed Jerry Sandusky allegedly rape a boy in the PSU locker room in 2002 -- will NOT coach against Nebraska on Saturday ... out of fear for McQueary's safety.

The university released a statement reading, "Due to multiple threats made against assistant coach Mike McQueary, the university has decided it would be in the best interest of all for assistant coach McQueary not to be in attendance at Saturday's Nebraska game."

McQueary has been under fire for not doing anything to stop the alleged rape -- and then going to Joe Paterno instead of the police.

Important to note ... McQueary was NOT pulled from the game because officials felt he did something wrong ... he was pulled for safety reasons.

Unbelievable.

Shameful. It is called "The Good 'Ole Boys' Club". Every coach, every individual who witnessed or was made aware of, should be ashamed...This type of "dont tell" behavior happens in a lot of work places.....and should not be tolerated

I jus*****ched last night's TMZ Live and heard the two Penn State students (student body president and the student from the marching band).

I hope that not all Penn State students are such cowards. You're too "emotional" and "confused" to say that a man who saw and didn't stop the rape of a CHILD should be fired? Seriously!? You're trying to "do what's right" with vigils, but are too afraid to say that the man should be fired?

Penn State is apparently a school of cowards who, like McQueary, aren't willing to take a stand against evil.

Glad to see they removed him as well. If the team has to Coach themselves then so be it. This man let that little boy down that day and allowed a grown man to RAPE that little boy, and walked away. People if you see something wrong happening do something other that just reporting it, STOP IT.

it should be a criminal offence to witness a crime and nto immediately report it to police- let alone not try to stop it if it appears that your life would not be in immediate danger
if he had shouted out at the time I'm sure he wouldn't have been murdered and the child may have been partially spared and at least felt like someone cared
he should not be getting off without charges either
need to pass Good Samaritan Laws here too
so people are required to step up if they don't have the moral character to do it automatically without being prompted!!!

How can anyone possibly give a crap about Mike McQueary's safety? He shouldn't be on the field because he's a coward who chose his career over the safety of a 10 year old boy.

This man who witnessed the rape of a child should be fired for not taking immediate action. How do you walk away from that?

Paterno should not have been fired, he reported it after hearing of it, he was not in a position to stop it. The top brass at Penn State should be fired for not calling the police.

This is a shame, are people that selfish that they are only concerned about themselves? So are the people that didn't intervene inadvertantly indicating that if it was their child that it's okay for he or she to be assualted and if someone witnesses it to turn a blind eye? I can't understand this. We are were given free will on this earth but it is also wished that we all do the right thing no matter if it will cause someone to go to jail especially when it comes to children. MY mother was sexually molested when she was younger and going through foster homes and this story has ripped her heart apart all over again because she can relate. These grown men may have been more involved than what they are saying as well. It seems to be some dirt hiding under the rug that needs to be swept up. Not only during these times should children and adults be in our thoughts but all the time.

People need to read the 23 page grand jury investigation. McQueary didn't stop it, didn't immediately tell-but he did tell Joe P. he was also questioned by Athletic Director & AVP,,but that is where he stopped-he fully cooperated with grand jury, that is why A.D. & AVP are in trouble, they tried to say they thought horseing around was going when, when McQ clearly he witnessed a vile sex act. But him like Joe P still saw this man on campus with boys and did nothing. if they would have followed up so many would have been saved-I think the job he has now was to keep him quiet, massive cover up for Jerry S.

Penn State's football program needs to be SHUT DOWN for a while. SMU's football program was shut down for giving gifts to the players. I bet after this investigation it will come out that MANY people were ignoring and covering up child rape. Worse than giving gifts, IMO.
