Jay-Z

Occupy T-Shirts Disappear

Amid Criticism

11/12/2011 11:32 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Jay-Z Occupy Wall street T-Shirts
Jay-Z and Rocawear have removed their Occupy Wall St. themed t-shirts from Rocawear.com -- after the rap mogul came under heavy fire for profiting off the protests, without donating anything to the cause.

Jay-Z was photographed wearing the "Occupy All Streets" shirts earlier this week and began selling them on his website. Checking the site today ... the shirts are now gone.

Before the t-shirts were pulled ... TMZ spoke with Grim, one of the leaders of the Occupy movement, who told us, "Jay-Z, as talented as he is, has the political sensibility of a hood rat and is a scrotum. To attempt to profit off of the first important social movement of 50 years with an overpriced piece of cotton is an insult to the fight for economic civil rights known as #occupywallstreet."

We've been calling Jay-Z's camp for the past two days ... no word back.

As of Monday afternoon, the shirts have re-appeared on Rocawear.com, but they are on back order. Still no word back from Jay-Z's camp.

I would be absolutely ashamed to claim to be part of this group of "occupy" losers. Seriously, I can't think of any group that I have ever had less respect for than these lazy directionless thugs. I can just imagine the ignorant conversations going on down there. The OWS people are truly CLUELESS.

It wouldn't be so bad if he donated the profits to the occupy Wall Street or other occupy movements. The man has no need for any extra money...so he should set the bar up high and be a benefit to the much maligned and attacked working class.

"To attempt to profit off of the first important social moment of 50 years..."

Yeah...a bunch of whiners offering no solutions and never requesting any realistic change while engaging in unruly and sometimes violent mob behavior is "important".

/sarcasm off

Why didn't he just donate the proceeds to a worthy cause...it wouldn't necessarily have to be OWS.

I love when these celebs claim how much they love their fans, when the only reason they even acknowledge their fans is because of the money these knobs throw at them.

Occupy what? It's now socialism/communism good, capitalism bad according to protesters. If you make a profit, you are a bad capitalist. The nazis were socialists.
