Chokes Up After Game:

'Dad, I Wish You Were Here'

11/12/2011 12:56 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0_2l5zhgwx_0_s14r3zwgJoe Paterno's son -- Penn State's QB coach Jay Paterno -- just broke down during a postgame interview, tearing up as he addressed his father to the camera ... claiming, "Dad, I wish you were here. We love you."

Joe Paterno -- who was fired as head coach earlier this week following PSU's massive child abuse scandal -- did not attend the game.

Penn State lost to Nebraska 17-14.

Why did he call his dad, "Joe"? Looks like FOOTBALL is of greater importance than being a father.
JOE PATERNO and your family, did you cry for the young boys raped in the PENN STATE SHOWERS?
PATERNO did you VOMIT every time you looked at SANDUSKY and allowed him to continue his association with PENN STATE?
PATERNO since you are of the generation that allowed priests to RAPE, did you feel SANDUSKY'S deviant forced sex on young boys in the PENN STATE showers was no different than Catholic church?
PATERNO, PENN STATE, BOARD of TRUSTEE, ALUMS: You POWER BRAIN-WASHED all their minds. You are now EXPOSED. You are now ACCOUNTABLE. Start praying for YOUR souls.

Child rapist sympathizers. NIce. From this hidious story we must stop the molesters by giving the DEATH SENTENCE for the worst abusers. The serial rapists/ torturers of children. SIGN the petition for DEATH TO THE WORST OF THE WORST, this Sandusky who ALLEGEDLY did this SHOULD BE THE FIRST TO DIE>

@Mattyman he didn't do a damn thing. when he realized that the police were never notified he has a moral obligation to go to the cops at that point. So you need to get your head out of your ass. He's just as guilty!

@Kathleen. I would HOPE a decent person, in McQueary's position, would have chosen reporting a man he saw raping a young child over his career. I know I would have, and I know anyone I love and respect would have.

I have a feeling Jay knew. How could he not? This story is going to get so much worse. This cover-up was WAY bigger than just the coaching staff. Lawyers, donors, coaches, teachers, janitors, wives, etc., kmew. It's a real shame.

You people know don't you, that yesterday a Penn Stater announced that "THEIR" healing had begun. That's what it is to these people, all about them, about their pain. Any mention of the real victims is just PR bullsh*t. All these people care about is their snotty football team. They just don't get it.

For all of the people saying the Joe Paterno did the right thing because he told the athletic director and that was all that he was obligated to do, didn't he find it funny that Sandusky wasn't in jail? Didn't he question someone about that? And if he did, and they said it was being handled, didn't he find it funny that Sandusky was still around young boys or even around the teenagers on the team that he was coaching? Jo Paterno is an adult, and he knows better. I don't feel sorry for him, and the kids going to Penn State who are crying over him should feel ashamed of themselves. Football is not more important than a group of boys' safety.

You mean in "old school" mantlity it's was ok to be told a guy was raping (sodomizing) a 10 year old, and you don't ensure the guy is help responsible, and you continue on? Old school sucks. You have to be a special kind of sick to not recoil in outrage from such news, new or old school.

Brenda Hale

I do not wish that he was here. Son or no son. Any father would of spoke up. Can you imagine how many son's would of not suffered through child abuse (sex) if he would of spoke up. I am a victim of child abuse and it is something that will never be forgot by the young kids. He is just as guilty... I love college football however will never forget Joe for not speaking up...

Where is the care, protection and concern for these children. Sandusky is a "chicken hawk" of the worse kind. His position and preceived power allowed him to do the unthinkable, with silent consent of others that could hv been stopped. What if it was your child? May his prison days bring his "poetic justice"
