Heavy D

Was On Verge of Big Comeback

11/15/2011 12:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Heavy DHeavy D was planning a huge comeback just before his death -- and those plans included a new music video.

Carl Thomas, who sang on Heavy D's latest album, tells TMZ, he was in touch with Heavy two weeks ago ... and Heavy told him he was weeks away from shooting a music video for their song, "Still Missing You." Thomas said Heavy had a director in place and had picked a location for the shoot.

Sources close to Heavy D tell us it was all part of the singer's comeback plan. We're told he released his new album on September 27 because it coincided with the BET Music Awards ... and he was hoping the performance would put him back on the map.

As we first reported, Heavy D passed away on Tuesday after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills home. He was 44.

"Still Missing You" sounds like a sad song, just like losing Heavy D. I wonder who the song was about.

No comeback possible. Hip hop disposes of people and they stay disposed.

Nice try TMZ. I'm not the only one who won't buy your bogus stories. This site used to be great fun. Now all the stories are lame, it's been a long slow decline and I'm about to peace out.
If you're gonna make stuff up, come up with something better than "Heavy D was about to have a big comeback." Pathetic.

I am shocked to see so many negative comments regarding Heavy D's death. He was VERY well-liked because he was a NICE guy. Now, no one seems to be mentioning CSI-SVU. Heavy played a really bad sports agent in a story that was similiar to the Penn State; popular coach who liked boys.
