Joe Paterno
has been diagnosed with a treatable form of lung cancer ... this according to his son Scott.

Scott just released the following statement: "Last weekend my father was diagnosed with a treatable form of lung cancer during a follow-up visit for a bronchial illness. He is currently undergoing treatment and his doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery."

Scott added, "As everyone can appreciate, this is a deeply personal matter for my parents, and we simply ask that his privacy be respected as he proceeds with treatment."

Pay back is a bitch. But it always happens. Sometimes it just takes a while.

What a shocker, a bunch of self-loathing losers posting ill-will toward someone else on TMZ. And I'll bet you people try to fool yourselves that you're any different in the negative aspects than Joe Paterno.

News Flash, folks, you're just as bad of people as he is. Still, I don't wish cancer on any of you.

Isn't it a bitch to be hurt and afraid? Isn't it terrible not to know where to turn for help or how to get past something so devistating? Karma.

So wait, when Paterno is sick he goes to a doctor. When he finds out middle age man is raping a ten year old boy in his locker room he goes to the head of the athletic department?!?!?

I normally don't say anything negative, and respect everyone's freedom's but this guys a child molester, and those children lost their freedoms a long time ago. Time to die old man.

Why on earth would you announce that and then tell people to respect your privacy? why not just keep it in the family and let him focus on getting well instead of having people questioning the family about it.

Why are you guys applauding this man has lunch cancer when he had nothing to do with the rapes of those children. The janitor who saw it first & the red head could have stopped him.

The one who saw the incident is the one who was able to keep his job, but the one who supposibly heard what happened was fired. How does that makes sense.

Yeah, the kicker is that McQueary who really didn't do anything to stop what he saw kept his job advanced his career and now is on an INDEFINATE 'PAID' ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. How sweet is that deal.(Disgusting)

Why not just rape these kids all over again.

I think they made an announcement in an attempt to beat out the rag magazines. The journalists are all over the Penn State case and Joe Paterno. You think they wouldn't find out on their own and spla***** all over the place. They made an announcement on their own terms first. I think it was a smart move.
