'Pawn Stars'

Head-Hunting for NBA Players

11/23/2011 12:20 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Pawn Stars
The guys from "Pawn Stars" have a job opening at their famous Vegas shop ... and they're looking to hire someone who really needs the cash right now ... someone who's out of work  ... someone who can hit a turn around jumper from 25 feet away.

TMZ has learned ..."Pawn Stars" honcho Rick Harrison is adamant that he wants to help a struggling, talented, out-of-work NBA player earn a paycheck during the never-ending lockout.

We're told the job would require the baller to work the counter just like everyone else in the shop. As for salary -- we're told Rick will work out the details depending on who applies for the gig.

Chum Lee -- who also stars on the show -- tells TMZ he's hoping Rick can pull in a Lakers player ... especially Metta World Peace ... but relents, "If there aren't any players who take us up on the offer, I'm hoping some cheerleaders come down for the job!"

Wait - how many fat pantloads are in the NBA? Or do you just have to be willing to train to be one?

As if any NBA player needs $$$$, they should have made more than enough to support themselves and families during this... How giving an average person that is without work a job??? Oh wait, I guess you want more ratings... I like the show, but lost some respect on this one...

we use to watch the show but i can't take corey AT ALL and then seeing their twitters how they think they are celebrities now and are all famous. Stupid. The show could be informative but their energy drink commercial and the spot of corey saying he is famous killed it for us so we no longer watch it. Their 15 minutes is up, ratings are down, they will be cancelled soon and then will be sent back to the real world realizing they are broke once again. They are throwing money away on stupid stupid things, try HELPING people. This hiring is simply a publicity stunt (as is every other time they end up on tmz) because their show is failing.

Wow. In this economy where hard working, middle and lower class people with families are having a tough time finding a job, these jackholes decide to give a precious job to a millionaire ball player? I used to actually like these guys but now I'm starting to realize how horrible they are.

"Lee" is not his last name. It's Chumlee.
