Charlie Sheen

The REEL Reason

I'm Blowing Through Colombia

11/29/2011 3:45 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1129_charlie_sheen_EX_01
Charlie Sheen is NOT in Colombia to do coke -- he's there scouting locations for a new mystery movie he's developing ... (and possibly to do coke).

As we previously reported, Sheen's currently traveling around the country with a camera crew -- and now, the Warlock tells TMZ it's all part of an effort to remake a classic movie from the 70s, set in South America.

Sheen won't disclose what the movie's about -- but claims he's already reached out to Nicolas Cage about starring in the film.

Sheen tells us the project is still in its early stages .... and right now, he's just trying to get a feel for the terrain.

When asked to describe the movie, Charlie simply told us ... "Epic."

I am Colombian and live in Florida. 7 out of 10 of the americans that I work with use drus, specially marihuana (yeah right is a plant and its medicinal. Sarcastic laugh). I dont use any kind of drugs, in my country only stupid people fog their brains with drugs. Usa is number one cocaine consumer in the world and some imbecils think that if they go to Colombia the streets are full of cocaine. Bunch of retards including harry from tmz with this stupid headline. Colombia is a wonderful country, use your passport, go and visit and THEN give an educated opinion about why Charlie Sheen is there right now. The streets of California are made out of cocaine why he should go to Colombia when there are thousands of drug dealers in the united states????

For those of you who don't know but unfortunately the stigma of Colombia continues only because the media only reports on the negative from that country.

The truth of the matter is the days of pablo escobar are FAR GONE and been gone for a long ass time . Sure there is still crime but there's just as much crime on crenshaw blvd .
Same as in any country .

Also Truth of the matter is there's MAD CASH in Colombia right now. All silent investors are creeping over there and doing it quietly because now that the U.S, U.K, Italy, Spain, Greece so on and so on and so on are broke ass cheeks , Colombia is quietly reaping the benefits .

Do yourself a favor and go out there because the only risk is wanting to stay !!!!!!!!!

I find this TMZ article in extremely poor taste. Last year over 2 million foreign tourists from all over the world visited Colombia. Colombia has beautiful beach areas, old colonial cities like Cartagena, Popayan, Villa de Leiva, beautiful paradise like scenery, jungles, mountains, cold area, temperate areas and hot areas. Colombia is no longer #1 in cocaine production.
Lat year, foreign investors brought in $12 billion in investments, most of it for mining and oil exploration, manufacturing and hotels. Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, CNN's Cooper Anderson and many other world famous people and groups, have visited Colombia. Bogota's murder rate is even less than half that of Washington dc, Detroit or New Orleans. Colombia is now #4 in coal exports with close to 100 million tons, Oil production is on path to reach 2.5 million barrels per day within the next five years. As for drugs, you don't to go to Colombia. You can get them in any city of the US. US is the #1 producer of LSD, Meth, Exstacy, Marihuana, PCP, etc. So stop pointing a finger, when four fingers are pointed at you.

ANYONE who would support this guy's career at this point knowing how little respect he has for himself, his fans, his children not to mention a list of women as long as the lines he shoves up his nose and down his veins needs to get a life. You deserve to lose your money if you'd willingly put any in his or any other junkie's pockets.

I think he's being coy and is going to direct Romancing the Stone. The screenplay was written in 1979, it's set in Cartagena but the original didn't film there, and NBC bought the rights from Fox for a TV series based off it "subject to feature availability".

It should star Elizabeth Banks and Bradley Cooper.
