Nicole Scherzinger

30-Minute Crying Session

After 'X Factor' Elimination

12/9/2011 8:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1209_nicole_xfactor_exd_2
Nicole Scherzinger ran off the set of 'X Factor' in tears last night ... when the audience booed her like crazy for eliminating Rachel Crow ... and TMZ has learned she was hysterically crying in her dressing room for nearly a half-hour.

Nicole was charged with casting the final vote between Crow and Marcus Canty ... but didn't want to eliminate either .. so she sent the vote to "Deadlock" -- which meant it all boiled down to the audience vote.

Crow lost ... and broke down in tears ... and when the host of the show asked Nicole to comment, the crowd unleashed a chorus of boos.

Sources connected to the production tell TMZ ... Nicole bolted right for her dressing room ... and was "inconsolable" about the situation.

We're told Crow -- who was a crying mess herself -- heard about Nicole and went to the judge's dressing room ... where the two cried together and Crow told Nicole she was not mad about the decision.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Scherzinger -- as TMZ first reported, she had already been getting death threats and hate mail for voting Drew Ryniewicz off the show last week.

Give me a break! Is Nicole a professional and a judge or not? If she didn't want Rachel to go, she should have stood up and did her job by voting off Marcus. Everyone left on the show (including voted off Rachel) is great and it is going to get more difficult - someone great is going to get voted off, so do your job, Nicole.

The show has flaws. The mentoring thing creates animosity, between judges & affects their voting. Also, the votes after the "sing for your life" should be anonymous, so they don't vote based on how the other judges have said. I won't be watching anymore. I'm going to pass on Idol this year too. I'm sick of the whole concept.

I don't see what the big deal is. The bottom line is, Rachel and Marcus both will eventually be voted off, so what difference does it make that it was yesterday or next week? I'm glad Nicole made the decision she did, ... let the public make the decision. Ultimately, it was the public vote, that lead to Rachel's departure from the show. I don't get why these people act like the world just ended, when if they were realistic, they would be prepared for the fact that, the posibility exists that they may go home. They received tons of exposure, so if they are going to make something of themselves as it relates to a singing career, they will do it regardless of whether or not they win the show. It takes a variety of viewpoints to be fair, so I'm glad that the four judges are so different. Who wants them all to get along and think the exact same way, and end up with the exact same conclusion?
I think there have been MANY talented contestants this year, unfortunately, they can't all win. I hope Marcus keeps pushing forward, he's a good kid, and too, is a talented individual. At the end of the day, Melanie mops the floor with them all, so if she has a good fan base, she'll win this anyhow.

Last night just goes to show what a joke the show is, insofar as credibility is concerned. Why have the "bottom 2" sing for their lives, if the judges are too gutless to cast their votes in favor of a contestant who clearly outshines the other in the "sing-off." Rachel killed it while singing for her life, and Nicole clearly knew it-she was on her feet during Rachel's entire final performance.

We know that hypocritical L.A. is going to vote for his boy, and that Simon would vote for Rachel. Paula did the right thing, but when it came to Nicole, as the deciding vote, she crawled off into fetal position, without the stones to make the proper choice. Her crying session after the show, was out of guilt--as she knew she blew it.

I was about ready to give up on this show, by virtue of the contrived sniping between L.A. and Simon. I'm not big Rachel Crow fan--just a fan of fairness. I'm done.

@Ida, Marcus has been in the bottom THREE WEEKS IN A ROW! So obviously America is not into him. Nicole's decision was completely personal, just like it was last week. She is trying to stick it to Simon. I believe Marcus did a good job last night, but Rachel still wiped the floor with him in the "Save me" song. I hope Nicole continues to get booed. Two weeks in a row she made a personal decision and sent the wrong person home. She is going to screw her own contestant because people hate her so much now.

Nicole should not be a judge on a singing competition show.

She was originally hired to co-host. That is the ONLY role she is qualified for.

SIMON, REPLACE NICOLE IMMEDIATELY!

How sad that Rachel had to comfort Nicole. Nicole, it is not about you but the the contestants. Yes, Rachel received lowest vote count for Wednesday's song, but Marcus very well may have over the last couple of weeks. Either the save song means something or it doesn't.

Nicole should not be asked back to the show next season. This is the second time she's cowered out and created a scene.

Don't think for a minute that if Josh were in the bottom 2 that LA Reid and Simon wouldn't quickly ensure he was out of the competition. They look after their own performers. Why shouldn't Nicole?

They need to stop putting children on these shows.

Good grief. Maybe they should have kept Cheryl Cole. She could probably handle it better considering all the negative comments Brits say about her on internet forums. I have never liked any of the shows produced by Simon Cowell anyways.

Moms and Dads stop promising crap to little kids. teach them that in life we don't always win. And fact to be allowed to participate in this contest makes you a winner.

Rachel Crow's reaction just proves she's not mature enough to even be in this competition. Try again when you're grown up and mature enough to handle the pressure kid.

If people didn't like the decision than maybe yall should have voted! She cared for both of them so it was hard for her to vote one off... Nobody said anything when Simon Cowell went into deadlock! Yall are grown and acting like teenagers calling people names and what not! Get a life Grow up! If you don't like the judges or the talent theres about 100 other channels you can watch! They don't need your ratings!
