Duggar Family

Snaps Pic of Miscarried Baby

12/15/2011 3:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The family from TLC's "19 Kids & Counting" chose a unique way to commemorate the life of their 20th child, who passed away this week in a miscarriage -- they took an artsy picture of the fetal corpse ... and distributed it at the memorial.

Jubilee Shalom Duggar was due in April ... but Michelle Duggar suffered a miscarriage on Sunday in her 2nd trimester.

The Duggars held a memorial today at their church in Arkansas, where they distributed the above photographs -- containing messages like, "There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world."

The photos were first posted on Twitter by a family member -- and then surfaced on a fan site.

We reached out to the family for comment -- so far, no word back.

What next, pictures of the next baby's conception?? Do they not have ANY dignity? Are they modeling themselves after The Jacksons now? Somethings are better left in private.

These people are sick, yet they have a TV show and are embrased by the religious right.
SOme Muslim Americans want to show that they are no different than the rest of us chasing the American dream. Yet they are hounded by the religous right and are trying to be forced off of their TV show.
Our country is really getting F'd up.

And thats the truth

My Mom is 85. She said that when she was young and family member died, the body was placed in a casket in the living room of the families. If other friends and family wanted to view the deceased, they came to the house. In the 1800's up until the 60's and 70's, maybe even today, the dead person was photographed in their coffin and family members would also pose with the dead person on the couch etc. Victorians kept these photos in a book call the Book of the Dead. You can still purchase them at antique stores for about $500.00 or more. I personally do not see anything wrong with the pictures. It is amazing how small the hands and feet are compared to a newborns.

These people are just sick. They make the Lohans and Kardashians look normal. If you can accomplish that you are freaking nuts.

As a nurse, I've seen people grieve in what I would consider to be strange ways. We routinely take pics when a family loses a child, though usually not ones this early on. However, distributing pictures at the memorial is just plain freakish.

Chopin's Romance

I think it is okay to take these photos. Someone I know lost an infant many years ago when no photos were taken. It was hard to remember what the child really looked like. That is heartbreaking. But I do not think these photos belong on a gossip site for people to make disturbing comments about. Poor little baby, rest in peace.

It's wrong for it to ever be made public, but I had a miscarriage and I got pictures, and I'm glad I did.
