Kardashian Fam

Prepping to SUE Over

Bogus Slave Labor Report

12/22/2011 3:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The Kardashian family is preparing for war -- gearing up to unleash a legal attack on everyone who claimed their clothing line is manufactured in child slave labor sweat shops in China ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the family tell us ... Kris Jenner is furious -- claiming the guy who runs the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights had no right to accuse the Kardashian brands of wrongdoing because he has no tangible proof to back up his claims.

Kris must have seen I.G.L.H.R. honcho Charles Kernaghan on "TMZ Live" Wednesday -- when he flat out admitted he didn't actually go to the factories in question ... and is making the ASSUMPTION based on years of research on the Chinese manufacturing industry.

Jenner also believes Star Magazine's cover -- which screamed "Kardashian Sweatshop Scandal" -- was not only unfair ... but libelous ... and it should have to pay for any damage that has been caused to the brand's reputation.

As TMZ previously reported, Kris -- along with one of their manufacturing companies -- adamantly deny the use of child slave labor in their factories ... insisting they have people who are constantly patrolling for any possible violations.

Much as I dislike the Kardashians I agree with them suing on this one. Listening to the human rights spokesman there were a great deal of assumptions and not much reference to hard evidence. It was essentially anecdotal. I think it is especially important human rights groups get their facts straight and referenced. Many such human rights organisations do, it should be said, a lot of good work, plus properly reference and qualify what they're reporting. I think it's important because when things someone says stuff like "I haven't actually been to the factory concerned but based on what I think they're probably bad" it undermines legitimate reports (the Foxconn suicides being another one that got it wrong). 'I think' is not good enough. 'I think' is anecdotal and undermines people with actual evidence by producing potentially misleading headlines. I think Evan was right that it's no good working on assumptions.

TMZ perpetuated the lie by putting it on this site early on also..without checking to find out the truth
I'd add them to the lawsuit
Harvey can afford to pay up
and he may just learn a lesson about responsibility for what he prints/says

like the Kardashians or not- they're on top right now-wwhich means everyone is gunning for them
unfortunate in our country like ours that we can not celebrate another's success
for every one who spaeks to the possibility that might also
they do what they do (even if we're not sure what it is) and they love it and becauseof that they are dedicated and do it well
find what you love to do -where your passion lies, what you do well -and be creative when thinking about how you can earn money doing that- you may have to keep your old job to support yourself while you at first do it for no pay, then maybe part time-then maybe full time earning money
even it you don't get rich you will be blessed to enjoy each day doing what you love to do
unfortunate that most don't see it that way

lol... Their "brand" was ruined long before this story ever came out. How nice that they found a scapegoat to blame for the downfall of all things kartrashian.

Maybe they should open up their factory on American soil then this kind of thing would not happen. Then they could bring some much needed jobs to the American people.

always amuses me why nobody jumps all over Michael Jordan for the NIKE sweatshop factories it because they like Jordan?
hawking overpriced sneakers made by child labor- sold to US citizens at outrageous prices but not made by US citizens- giving the jobs to other countries to ensure maximum profits and Jordan's millions and NIKE's millions
plenty of other "brands" making more than the Kardashians-- follow the money and see where other ones are made and how the CEO's and celebrity spokesperson (or the celeb with their name on the items) is getting filthy rich and not so much even taking the time to find out if child labor is involved
the Kardashians are new manufacturing
NIKE etc. has been doing this for YEARS and getting away with it!!

Dear KarTRASHIANS - please think about this for a second. Your clothing line is bombing. You think that now with this report that wasn't entirely true, sales will suffer even more. But here is the thing. Even after you sue, that's not going to change clothing sales. They're still going to be terrible, because no one wants that shiat. So instead of suing, how about you pack up your big Klanmobile and fcuking GO AWAY

just googled NIKE for a litte of my own research
"Nike Shoes are made in many different factories all over the world. None of which are made in the United States. Their many factories are in China and Vietnam."

"Where are Nike golf clubs being made and assembled?
Different elements of each club come from different parts of the world. The heads are forged in Thailand, China and Japan. The shafts are made in the United States, Japan and China. The grips are made in the U.S., China, and soon to be Taiwan. Everything is assembled in plants in the U.S., Japan, and China."

and that was only 2 entries
boy did Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods ever get rich off them

yet nobody is outraged!!!!!!!
wake up and smell the coffee
if you're outraged about the Kardashians manufacturing out of the country... be outraged at ALL of them......

Sorry, the US LOVES to buy cheap junk. LOVES to. They float on a sea of cheap crap from Walmart. You may not like the K's but it's the American consumption habits that are the problem. Americans think they're too good for manufacturing jobs. Fnnn hypocrites!

Who cares what Kris Jenner, the person who whores out every single member of her family for MONEY, wants to do. The FACTS will come out, I'm sure, just like they have about all the KKlan. Boycott everything KarTRA$Hian.

Honestly...The "big one" looks like a mix between chewbacca and bigfoot.. I'm just saying.

It bugs the sh-t out of me that the KarTRASHians are so sue happy when it comes to someone trashing their reputation. But when the KarTRASHians are the ones spreading fake lies and venom to the tabloids about other people, they're the victims. If I recall Kim had a FAKE wedding for money and publicity, no matter how hard her or Kris "Money Hungry" Jenner say it wasn't. If it's in China, it's a sweatshop. I'd find it surprising if there ISN'T a manufacturer that isn't a sweatshop.

Paleeeze, So can the Kottonmouth Kings SUE Chris Jenner and the Kardashians for stealing their Logo?? the two K's back to back belongs to the band KottonMouth Kings NOT the K Klan LOL and besides that, if they are soooo worried about their brand, they should have their clothes made in the USA not China. Whatever ms. chris Jenner, I wouldn't buy anything with your family's name on it period...

Seriously, just private planes go down every day. Fiery car crashes happen. Why can't these vacuous, waste of space people have the decency to be in one of these?

Yes, folks, Kardasholes run the only good sweatshop. I'm sure they have visited many times. I'm sure their sweatshops are the nicest sweatshops in China. I'm sure the Chinese are so grateful to work in the best, most beautiful sweatshop.
