Most people sign up for some spin classes ... but "Biggest Loser" host Alison Sweeney is taking that 26.2 steps further for her New Year's resolution -- telling TMZ, she plans to run the L.A. Marathon this year.

She's got 76 days left to get ready -- the marathon is scheduled for March 18 -- but Alison tells us, she already got a head start ... beginning her training two months ago.

Sweeney says she plans to hit the pavement with several "Biggest Loser" alums on the big day. Now that's commitment.

She may be the least interesting person you have ever interviewed.

You need to train at least a year to run a full marathon.

I hope she's been training longer than 2 months. Typically it takes at least one year to train for a full marathon for beginners.

Allison is my favorite actress on Days. No one could replace her character on the show. She's great!

I'd venture to guess she isn't a beginner to running. Most stars aren't. And she's in pretty good shape, and has worked really hard to get where she is. I see no reason why someone who runs a decent amt couldn't train for a marathon in 6 months.
