Concert Promoter Says

He Was Kidnapped Because

NAS No-Showed in Angola

1/3/2012 12:13 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

An American concert promoter claims he and his son were abducted at gunpoint in Angola ... all because rapper Nas failed to show up for a heavily promoted New Year's Eve concert.

A rep for AllGood Entertainment CEO Patrick Allocco tells TMZ ... Patrick and his son were snatched by hired goons working for a local "concert impresario" named Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel ... who anted up big bucks for the NYE show.

Allocco's people claim Nas and opening act Jemiah Jai were paid $315k to perform two shows ... but failed to board their flights in the U.S. in time to make it on stage in Angola.

According to Allocco's team ... Miguel was PISSED ... and didn't want Allocco to leave the country without resolving the whole money issue ... so he sent his people to take them into custody at gunpoint.

Allocco's people claim Patrick and his son were handed over to local authorities, where they were detained and interrogated for nearly seven hours.

The local U.S. Embassy finally stepped in and got them sprung.

A rep for the U.S. Embassy confirms ... Patrick and his son are now "in residence" at a local hotel while the two sides try to resolve the money situation.

Allocco's people gave up this statement from him ... "The hope is that Nas and Jemiah Jai will return all of the monies that were wired to them immediately so that our ransom may be paid and our safe return to the United States may be facilitated."

Calls to Nas and Jai have not been returned.

I don't know why these people are paid their fee up front. Half now, half later should be the rule.

People get killed for less. Obviously these rappers have no clue as to who they are dealing with. They don't play in Angola!! Hey Jerks, return the money ASAP and watch your backs. Don't force them to come looking for you. Here's a news flash...they will!

just my opinion

to lawrence...obviously u have no idea who Nas is. no, he is not the richest rapper in the world but sorry he will not be a "who?" in a few years. Nas has been consistently named top 5 rappers of all time since the early 90s and nowadays he makes music more true to his creative than for the billboard bubble gum crap. to everyone else, the full story is not known as to why they didnt travel to ANGOLA but i would guess there's about 300,000 reasons not worth going to a place known for such violence and vigilantism. Like i said, Nas isn't the RICHEST but he's worth enough to be held hostage his damn self should he step into a place like that with a single jewel on him.

I went to Rock the Bells here in LA. And Nas came on stage for a like 5 minutes most of which he spent just walking around and throwing shots out to himself and then left for ever to go drink some more. He had already came out late b/c he was getting his drink on...and then to leave I can't even say in mid performance. His ego is way to big for that little body...maybe that's why he has so much trouble getting to and fro...

Nas is still making money? Good for him. Honestly, who even listens to Nas anymore? You couldnt give me a ticket to see him for free. I guess he still has to do these shows to make those Kelis payments on time. Idiot!

This is my family over there and this is no joke. The only thing Patrick Allocco is guilty of is trusting Nas to keep his contractual and ethical obligation. Please put pressure on Nas to give the money back. I want my family back NOW, in one piece, alive. Please make some noise to help my family!!!

First of all why he was forwarded the money before the gig I don't get. But since he didn't show up for the gig then NAS GIVE BACK THE MONEY! I never even heard of Nas! I'm sure he has more concerts somewhere! Why can't the authorities go to him and arrest him and demand he gives back the money. UGH what a mess!

This is what I don't get...allgood obviously has some money, why doesn't Mr. Alloco just have the 315k or whatever the promoter is asking for wired to him so they can go home with there life at least. Then sue the **** out of Nas and whoever else for damages...also why is this"promoter" / "booking agent" in that country with his son in the first place? Seems real amateur business practices to me. Guy sounds like an idiot and was forced to go by his son maybe because his son just wanted to hang with Nas or something stupid. Whole thing doesn't make any sense. Anyone care to comment on this?
