Snoop Dogg

ARRESTED FOR WEED

1/9/2012 10:03 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Snoop Dogg arrested
Snoop Dogg
isn't the only canine with a nose for weed ... TMZ has learned the rapper was ARRESTED in Texas this weekend after a drug-sniffing dog uncovered marijuana on his tour bus.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Snoop's tour bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca -- a small town in West Texas where Willie Nelson was popped for weed back in 2010.

It's all pretty ironic -- considering Snoop RAILED against cops in 2010 for arresting the country singer, claiming, "They better leave Willie the f**k alone." (video below)

We're told the border patrol ran a standard inspection of the bus with the dog ... when the animal alerted the agents to a possible hit in a waste basket in the back of the vehicle.

The agents claim they found a red prescription bottle with several joints inside. We're told the bottle contained under a half-ounce of weed.

Cops say Snoop admitted the dope belonged to him. Snoop has a prescription for cannabis in California, but law enforcement tells us, there is a zero tolerance policy for weed in Texas ... regardless of his status in other states.

Snoop was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released.

Attempts to reach the rapper's rep were unsuccessful.

1:25PM PT: The Justice of the Peace in Hudspeth County, TX tells TMZ, Snoop can resolve the entire matter by paying a $537 fine ... unless he wants to challenge the citation, in which case he can make his case in court.

That's lazy, Texas police. Of course Snoop had weed. When are we going to admit, as a country, that cannabis prohibition has failed, and that a responsible adult isn't hurting anyone by smoking some bud? Free Snoop, End Prohibition.

Yes, Texas has a zero tolerance policy for weed-for citizens. The only people that can traffic drugs in Texas is law enforcement. They are elbow deep in the drug ring with Mexico and the US and anybody that thinks otherwise is just plain ignorant. When is this country going to get their heads out of their asses and decriminalize marijuana?

We legalize alcohol and seem to control that. Cigarettes are also sold and controlled. So, is the real problem for not legalizing marijuana the fact that we couldn't control it commercially? Big bucks would be in that. And I do not understand the difference with alcohol which people can always abuse too but most don't.

Yaawwwn, what a waste of f*cking time!! Snoop has rolled joints and smoked weed LIVE on the Howard Stern Show in NY state and no one gives a sh*t. Yet Texas on a slow murder & rape day takes time out to bust Snoop for 2 half sticks of grass. The cops are looking for sales commissions, srusly... #Truth!!

About 10-years-ago, I was passing through Pecos, Tx. on
a bus. About 3 or 4 "agents" from the "Interstate Narcotic Task Force" (??) walked-past about 35 other passengers and
straight to me. They gave me the third-degree, and checked my bags. Like most in "law" "enforcement", they were over-fed and over-paid, with really wack haircuts, and I guess I was too tall or dark or something. After the bus left, several other passengers said they were embarassed about
the "agents" CLEARLY Racist behavior. Apparently, they did not known this is common-practice in the Southwest/West Coast by "Homeland Security"/"Law" "Enforcement".
Ask, the family of the 15-year-old that was EXECUTED in
a MIDDLE-SCHOOL HALLWAY.

I'm surprized this dirtbag still has a brain. Habitually
saturating it with pot. What a poor example for kids.

You know they only search that bus because they knew Snoop was in there. Those small town Barney Fifes need to find something better to do.

We're taught to truthfully answer questions by law enforcement. That doesn't mean he's gotta assist in his own prosecution. "Officer, I respectfully refuse to answer your question", is all he's required to say.
