Dr. Conrad Murray

Back to Court to Prove

MJ Partly Caused His Own Death

1/10/2012 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Conrad Murray
Dr. Conrad Murray
is asking the judge in his criminal case to deny Michael Jackson's family full restitution, on grounds MJ caused his own death.

Murray filed legal docs yesterday -- obtained by TMZ -- asking for evidence the defense never received during the trial ... evidence that could show Michael self-administered the fatal dose of Propofol.

Murray's lawyer, Michael Flanagan, argues that in deciding how much restitution the family gets, it's appropriate to consider the victim's responsibility for his own demise.

So Murray will concede he's partly to blame -- he can't argue otherwise because of the conviction -- but he still wants to prove that MJ ultimately caused his own death.

The prosecution is asking for around $100 million in restitution, but the judge hasn't decided on a figure.  But once the figure is set, if Flanagan gets his way and the judge were to decide MJ was 50% responsible for his death, the judge would reduce the restitution award by 50%.

So the fat lady hasn't sung ... yet.

Yup, MJ caused his own death. That's why Murray was acquitted and has gone back to practising medicine. No, wait... Umm...

Can't believe that Flanagan is still flapping his gums about Michael being to blame for his own death, when will he and Murray get it, if Michael had been responsible in any way Murray would not be in jail now. Judge Pastor laid into Murray at the sentencing so can't see him changing his feeling now and the more stupid statments that Murray and Flanagan make will only iritate him more. To be honest if i were Flanagan i would disassociate myself from Murray now before his career is in the same place as Murrays, in the toilet!!!

OF COURSE Jacksons death actually WAS a suicide, Murray just helped him get there. The pathetic noseless one BEGGED for the drug, used it nightly before Murray arrived on the scene and Jackson was a God-awful MESS of a semi-human being. The world is much better off now that he is DEAD!!! Rest in hell, Michael. Anyone who abused children is S***!!!

TOO BAD IS WAS PROVEN IN COURT BY SCIENCE AND COMMON SENSE THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MICHAEL TO HAVE GIVEN HIMSELF THE LETHAL DOSE OF PROPOFOL.......AND THAT'S NOT JUST ME SPEAKING AN OPINION...IT'S FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last time I looked Judge Pastor will be reviewing any evidence of mitigation--the same Judge Pastor that blasted Murray for failure accept responsibility for Michael Jackson's death; the same Judge Pastor that revealed Murray's only purpose for recording a drugged patient was potential blackmail. Come on--really, TMZ. Your speculation here is not grounded in reality. Nice try, Murray/Flanagan. The fat lady has already sung the last not of Murray's swan song--it was an ear-piercing, glass ****tering high C.

yeah MJ is partially responsible for his death just as much as any murder victim is parially responsible for their demise because they were there in the presence of their killer...hmmm wow what a crock. It doesn't matter anyway Murray you still lost your medical license over this something you knew could happen. In my opinion you didn't get enough jail time so you should have to pay every single penny of the restitution

Murray doesn't get it & never will. He, Murray, was the only physician in attendance.

Leaving a sleep deprived, propofol demanding Michael Jackson in a room with propofol was like leaving a pyromaniac in a room with matches and failing to anticipate a match getting lit. Wanton neglect, depraved indifference.

Murray guilty, propofol not.

Lack of remorse or insight are 2 reasons Murray should never again hold a medical license.

Can this man not just crawl back under the rock he came from... he needs to accept what he's done, and to me he doesn't feel that he's accountable at all, for what happened to Michael. Regardless of any problems MJ might have had, it was Murray that ultimately "pulled the trigger".. I wish he was doing community service, in addition to being locked up... that man needs to learn a lesson in being humble.

This dude is a F@%$#* clown! he just refuses to have any kind of remorse for HIS actions. Murray needs to wake up and stand accounted for the death of MJ. all this "what did I do" not working no more. he has been found guilty by a jury of his peers NOW DEAL WITH IT FOOL!
