'Pawn Stars' Cast

FURIOUS Over 'Cajun' Spin-off

1/11/2012 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Pawn Stars and Cajun Pawn Stars
The debut of the new "Cajun Pawn Stars" was a huge hit with the History Channel ... but TMZ has learned the guys at the original "Pawn Stars" show are PISSED because they had no idea it was being made.

Sources close to Left Field Pictures -- the production company behind "Pawn Stars" -- tell us the Vegas crew feels "blindsided" ... because they only learned about the show a few weeks ago ... when the network made the official announcement.

We're told Chumlee, Rick, Corey and the Old Man insist they were promised by the network that no "Pawn Stars" spin-off shows would be made of any kind ... and now feel like they were betrayed.

Sources say the guys are "really hurt" by the whole thing and feel like the new show is a "total knock-off" -- but their beef is with the network ... and NOT with the cast of the new show.

Pretty shocking behavior by the network -- considering "Pawn Stars" is the number one show on History and one of the highest rated shows on cable.

No official comment from the "Pawn Stars." Ditto for the History Channel.

I'd say the Vegas group has a real beef. Not a cool move on the History channel's behalf. I'd think it is litigatable. I watched the cajun version and was totally schocked at the copy cat aspects of their show.

Pawn Stars sucks now anyway. Every item requires an expert, and then the same lame negotiating. How about Rick buys things without the expert and we see how much he wins and loses?

And please... no more staged bits between the guys. We know there is no way they're ever on the floor just sitting around talking.

The "old man" is hilarious. Doubt very seriously that another pawn show will do better. There was one other and after five minutes I shut it down, the cast was terrible.

Maybe they're scared of a little competition?

Surprised? Look how many "Housewives" and various "Wives" spinoffs liter the airwaves. Pawn Stars is a great, informative show and is usually case, the first one of anything is and always will be, the best.

Everyone who is from Louisiana knows that real "cajuns" don't live in Alexandria, Louisiana. Southern la is where real cajuns a$$ comapred to real cajun food down south.

The new show sucks , I would not expect tp see it around for more than a season ,rick and the boys have nothing to worrie about.

What is so silly is that this show is made in Alexandria, Louisiana; not South Louisiana where us Cajuns ACTUALLY live. I don't get how they're calling it "Cajun Pawn Star" when they're not Cajun at all, just from Louisiana?
If they didn't want s "spin-off" or wanted to keep a "one of a kind" show; why didn't they have that specified in their contracts?

Chumlee is dreamy!!!

The Vegas guys probably wanted more $$$$$,so History Channel is probably hedging their bets with the other show.
It's called the "David Caruso- Suzanne Sommers" syndrome.......

Finally, the rip-off masters get ripped off. Perfect irony!

I'm pissed that any of that garbage is on TV.

The other pawn shows are crap I dont bother watching them. I hate these spinoffs that just change up location but have the same theme. The worst ones are when they try to switch it up with chicks like that stupid lady loggers. The guys from Pawnstars have nothing to fear

Well, I'm sure that "Rick and the Gang" being the shrewd and savvy businessmen they are, got that "Guarantee" in writing. If not then I guess they're just as stupid as they all look.
