'Young & Restless' Star

Sues Over Torrential Rainstorm --

My Poor Man Servant!!!

File under rich people's problems -- "Young and the Restless" star Melody Scott is suing her home insurance company for refusing to cover more than $50,000 in rain damage ... claiming her poor male assistant went through HELL cleaning up the mess.

Melody and her husband Edward filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming Mid-Century Insurance Company put them through the ringer after a 2010 rainstorm wreaked havoc on their Beverly Hills Home ... and ultimately left them out to dry.

As a result of the storm, the suit alleges, the Scotts' loyal servant -- a Mr. Nick Krotov -- "was forced to place many pots, pans, and towels in the living room to catch the falling water."

According to the suit, the Scotts filed an emergency insurance claim to repair the damage -- but MC blew their repeated requests to approve it ... and Mother Nature wreaked even more havoc on their home.

Melody claims MC finally came out to inspect the property more than a week after the initial storm -- and rejected their claim, insisting the water damage was not covered.

Melody and Edward claim they spent over $50,000 trying to repair the damage -- and now they're suing to get it all back, plus other damages. Calls to Mid-Century were not returned.

PLEASE tell whoever wrote this article that the past tense of "to wreak" is "wrought"! "Wreaked" is NOT a word. HARVEY...please hire an editor who gives these stories one final look, who has a good eye for our language and its spelling and punctuation!

For those that think soap stars make the big bucks are sadly mistaken. They work a hell of a lot harder than movie stars and get paid less because they are on a soap. Before people start knocking soaps, do they not realize that a lot of great actors got their start on soaps? Josh Duhmel, Brad Pitt, Demi Moore, Meg Ryan, Ricky Martin, Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishborne, Hayden Patteire, Ray Liotta, Kelsey Grammer, Cicely Tyson and Tommy Lee Jones are just the start of the list. Now for the actual issue of the insurance claim... Most if not all homeowners do not cover floods. But, from what article is saying it is rain damage from a faulty roof, which is not the same. Most insurance companies try to deny claims because they want to get out of paying and they probably thought that Melody Scott would just pay it. Another thing, just because you have money doesn't mean you should be able to be screwed over.

Another perfect example of celebs being good at one thing (reading lines with mock emotion), and being stupid on most other things.

Maintain your house, have your roof fixed BEFORE the storm, lean less on your man-servant. Take care of your own self, just like an adult.

Lol...good luck with that. We had a racoon eat a hole in our roof the size of 2 basketballs, comepletely through the roof in our garage and all STATE FARM would give us is $250 over our $500 deductable. Not coverable is their new line. Good Luck Mel.

Princess Melody has no problem with $$ since she has worked on hubby's soap opera getting prime story lines all these years. Her "man servant" is probably used to lots of bending anyway!
