My sense common said, he tried to hide something, perhaps was too drunk and tried to avoid the ticket for DUI ;-)

What would I do if I was the captain? I would airlift ALL the KARDASHIANS (Ryan Seacrest included), all the WALL STREETS thieves, all corrupt politicians and give them a "tour" of the sinking boat.

He took an oath when he decided to take the job as captain of a ship. He knew his responsbility. Even I know what my responsibility would be if I was captain of a ship. He is a coward. Give a guy a break? REALLY? Is that what we should tell the families of all the deceased? That he just wanted to let his head waiter wave to his family? Accident's happen? What a dumb question!

Another tmz stupid question. If Harvey Levin was on that cruise ship would be a whole different story.

I would have definitely abandoned ship...and that's one of the many reasons why I'm not the captain of a passenger vessel.

When you're a captain, you are responsible for your passengers and crew. Sully Sullenberger made a final walkthrough of his half-submerged plane to make sure there were no remaining passengers before getting on the rescue boat.

That is a real captain.

The sad truth is you don't know what a person will do in a situation like this until that person is in a situation like this. A person can know the rules and laws through and through and still do what this captain did. He is a coward no doubt, but I think what is really interesting is why a ship with state-of-the-art equipment didn't avoid a sand bar in well-do***ented and traveled waters? Somebody wasn't doing their job and it seems that it wasn't just the captain either. I'm no expert but I think this tragedy could have been avoided.

If he had his life boat moored to the center of the ship. He could of said the wheel house was underwater and he was directing emergency operations operations from there and on the boat. But when he said he aint going back to the coast guard that then becomes the problem for him.People are dead and thats why it will be investigated.

All the facts are premature. This is not the first time when accusations of a a crew and Captain left the ship. The Italian Liner "Andrea Doria" in 1956 off Nantucket with the collision with the "Stockholm" had the same chaos and more loss of life. It is apparent that this ship diverted carelessly off course. As a maritime historian I am baffled why the water tight bulk heads couldn't handle a 160... ft rip into the hull. There was more than the Captain that wasn't paying attention.

A captain NEVER abandons ship if there is still anyone on board. No matter what. That is the way it always has been. From pirate ships to merchant ships to navy ships, to whatever kind of ship or boat. It is just the law of the sea and the code of conduct for all captains.

PLEEEEEEEASE do me a favor, TMZ and maybe other "news" outlets will follow. STOP CALLING IT "DIABETES"!!! THERE IS TYPE I & TYPE II!! PEOPLE WHO ARE OBESE USUALLY GET TYPE II DIABETES, AND OLDER PEOPLE. MY FATHER HAS SUFFERED FROM TYPE I DIABETES (CHILDHOOD DIABETES) SINCE HE WAS 9 YRS OLD. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELVES AND STOP PUTTING TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIABETES UNDER THE "DIABETES" UMBRELLA.

I'm in the US Coast Guard and I have NEVER seen a Captain that would do that. There have been some captains that we have to use force to get off their ship or boat so they don't die.
