Dr. Conrad Murray

Asks Court

To Get Out of Jail

1/27/2012 3:47 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0127_murray_getty_ex
Dr. Conrad Murray has just filed legal docs asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal.

Murray claims in his legal docs he has a legitimate basis to appeal his manslaughter conviction.  Among the grounds for appeal -- "improper exclusion of defense evidence and witnesses that resulted in violating the defendant's State and constitutional rights to due process, to present a defense and to the effective assistance of counsel."

Murray's lawyer also says, "He has exhausted virtually all of his available resources."

Murray is asking to be released on no bail pending the appeal.

If released, Murray says he plans to live with his baby mama Nicole Alvarez -- and would be willing to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

Murray says he would also seek employment to support his children -- though it's unclear what work that would entail ... considering his medical license has been unceremoniously revoked.

To illustrate his dire circumstances behind bars, Murray's lawyer says the ex-doctor is housed under "maximum security" conditions -- isolated in a solitary cell, and escorted around the jail facility with his hands chained to his waist.

I don't believe that any other convicted criminal is afforded the same opportunity he's seeking, so no exception should be made for him.

This murdering quack's hubris knows no bounds. His time is nearly up anyway and the douchebag will be out on the streets soon enough. Actually, he'll probably be cleaning the streets if he's lucky enough to get even that job. He's finished as a quack that's for sure.

WHAT??..."his medical license has been unceremoniously revoked.".....OH Jesus &%@$#&%$#@$%$%@$$ !!!!!!!!!!..(lol) I don't know how much more I can take from this sh*t head. I'm also disturbed at the poll #'s 38% of people think he should get out?..really?.....I wish people could look at this case for what it really is. IF Dr Murray had treated YOUR dad, brother or friend the way he treated Michael..you you be OUTRAGED. *****I also notice A LOT of people don't know jack sh*t about the facts of this case...and obviously the facts of the "molestation" cases. MAYBE if the media had looked into the things they were being told by certain individuals BEFORE broadcasting them to the public as "facts"...people wouldn't think such horrible things about Michael. TONS AND TONS of the things that were reported as facts....AREN'T true..and never were. SOME PEOPLE in the media ..due to their sh*tty "reporting" actually helped destroy Michael's life. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE ...*cough Diane Dimond cough*.

Poor Poor Conrad Murray to quote Mr. Walgren.

Murray thinks he's above the law and deserves special treatment. There wasn't any evidence or witnesses withheld to hinder his case. By making that plea, he is challenging Judge Pastor's rulings and Murray isn't smarter than any judge. Murray wants to blame Klein, but isn't intelligent enough to figure out that Klein wasn't in the room with him. Murray had the chance to take the courtroom stand and he choice not too.

If Murray was released he would FLEE THE COUNTRY !!!!!!

Murray has mental issues with his Messiah persona.

CBS 7 web news reports:

Attorney J Michael Flanagan wrote in a declaration to Los Angeles Superior Court that Murray's sentence "is very severe" considering the cir***stances of the case.

Mr. Flanagan wrote that Murray's conviction stemmed from "an unusual situation, a close friendship with Michael Jackson and a desire to assist him through a difficult situation. Dr Murray may have made wrong choices and not have exercised good medical judgment at times, but he never intended to injure anyone."
*******************
It's obvious from those statements that Flanagan and Murray have lost touch with reality (blinded with the facts) that Murray killed a man because of his thoughts and actions. Neither one has learned the definition of involuntay manslaughter.

Flanagan is as detrimental to the legal profession as Murray is to the medical profession. Both represent ignorance at its finest.

Chains on his hands, huh, should be very tightly round his bloody neck. How the hell this one brain cell owning idiot ever got to be a doctor escapes me. He still doesn't seem to get it, he is a convicted criminal and hopefully will never be within 100 yards of anyone needing medical attention ever again. What a joke, he wants to get a job to support all his kids, why now, he never supported them before while he had the ability to earn good money. I say leave him in solitery for the rest of his days, he may eventually realise why he's there.

Conrad Murray's Delusional Appeal: What It Means

While sitting inside his 5x8 ft jail cell, Dr. Conrad Murray should be repenting for his crime. Instead, he's plotting his escape by filing to appeal his conviction. Even after a jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter, Murray is still convinced of his own innocence, convinced he is the victim of some sort of conspiracy by the prosecutors and the public.

Even more delusional than his belief that he is innocent is his belief that he can successfully represent himself. Even more offensive than his total lack of remorse is his expectation that the public foot the bill for his appeal.

Murray is most likely representing himself because he no longer has the money to pay his attorneys. While his defense team is required to represent him through the trial, even if they weren't getting paid after some point, they are not required to represent him on appeal. Since Murray cannot afford an attorney, the public has to pay for the transcripts of the trial and any other costs to build up his case. So not only is Murray plotting his escape, but he's doing it all on the taxpayer's dollar.

However, Murray's delusional appeal attempt is, for the most part, a lost cause. The odds are, Murray will be out of jail before the Court of Appeal is even able to rule on his case. It takes several months just to put the record and transcripts for an appeal together, and it usually takes about two years for the Court of Appeal to rule. While Murray has been sentenced to a four-year prison term, in all likelihood, he will spend just two years behind bars due to prison overcrowding in California, so he probably will never get to argue his case.

However, if Murray is still behind bars when the Court of Appeal hears oral arguments, he'll get exactly what he wants: his moment in the spotlight... but not completely. While the press can attend, cameras are not allowed inside the Court of Appeal.

As Murray spends his days inside the LA County Jail's law library writing up his appeal, Michael Jackson's family must grapple with the fact that their son's killer still refuses to own up to his crimes.
