Whitney Houston

Few Pills Recovered

at Death Scene

2/13/2012 7:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Multiple medicine bottles were found in the Beverly Hills hotel room where Whitney Houston diedLaw enforcement sources tell TMZ ... multiple medicine bottles were found in the Beverly Hills hotel room where Whitney Houston died ... but we're told there were NOT a lot of pills at the scene.

Among the pills ... ibuprofen (painkiller), Xanax (anti-depressant), Midol (for menstrual cramps), amoxicillin (for treating bacterial infections) ... and more.

We're told the amoxicillin was prescribed recently because Whitney had been suffering from a sore throat.

We're told some of the pills were old ... some issued in 2011 ... but some of the bottles were from 2012. We're told the bottles that were recovered at the scene did not contain a lot of pills.

Sources tell us ... some of the prescriptions were filled at the infamous Mickey Fine pharmacy in Beverly Hills ... where Michael Jackson had numerous prescriptions filled for Demerol and other drugs.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... it's possible Whitney suffered a heart attack caused by an adverse reaction to her medication, but it is simply too early to make an official call on the cause of death.

We're told the L.A. Coroner's Office has removed the hold on Whitney's body ... which means her family can now have Whitney transported back to Atlanta, where the singer will be laid to rest.

xanax is not an anti-depressant, it's used for anxiety. those are 2 different classes of medications

Xanax is not an antidepressant; it is an anti-anxiety medication, with a short half-life. Mama's little helper. And the fact that few pills were found at the scene may suggest the rest of them were INSIDE her. If you take enough of any medication like Xanax and mix it with alcohol, cardiac arrest is a real risk.

"We're told the L.A. Coroner's Office has removed the hold on Whitney's body ... which means her family can now have Whitney transported back to Atlanta, where the singer will be laid to rest. "

Should this not read "WHERE THE SINGER WILL BE BURIED" Doesn't "laid to rest" imply she will get up again.

Try to use the English language correctly dudes.. Shakespeare and Churchill would not be pleased . And neither would The QUEEN..

Multiple bottles and very few pills found? Geez, I wonder where all the pills went. Better call Scotland Yard, this looks like a tough case that only Sherlock Holmes could solve!

Ibuprofen is NOT a narcotic. its what Advil, Tylenol and other over the counter "pain relievers" consist of. To call is a PAINKILLER associates it with narcotics. Urgh, why do i even look at this site...

The Los Angeles coroner's office has not discussed whether prescription medications and drowning played a role in singer Whitney Houston's death, assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said in a news conference Monday morning.

Winter was repeatedly asked about Internet reports that those issues had been brought up in discussions with Houston's family. While allowing that Beverly Hills police may have had such discussions, Winter said he is the one who's been in contact with Houston's family, and the topics were not broached.

Breaking news!! Whitney Houston had a cold before she died. R u guys serious? Xanax is not an anti-depessent, first off, and the rest are a common mixture given to people suffering from anything from an upper respatory infection to a progressed cold. Can't wait till you guys beak tha there were cough drops found in her purse. Pretty deep.

Xanax is an anti-anxiety medication (benzodiazepine), not an anti-depressant.

Love how TMZ is trying to "retract" its report earlier that drugs were involved. But, the best part is how ignorantly they do it.... Citing Xanax as an antidepressant... Next the comments about drug bottles being around but not containing many pills. Dudes! Wake up! If few pills were found in the body, do you think Whitney flushed them down the toilet before she died! TMZ reporting = hopeless. Your paparazzi business could have been a possible cause of Whitney turning to drugs...

There weren't a lot of pills at the scene, because she swallowed them all.

I'm not fully buying the laid to rest in ATL. TMZ just seems to throw anything out there, and if it later turns out to be untrue, they offer a after the fact correction. NBC is reporting her body is being taken to Newark, w/a funeral there later this week. That just makes more sense to me.
