Nas' Kidnapped Concert Promoter

2/17/2012 2:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

49 days after he was kidnapped in Angola following a derailed Nas concert, a U.S. concert promoter is now free to go home ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for Patrick Allocco tells us, “An order was entered today by Angolan authorities lifting the travel ban which prevented [Patrick] and his son from leaving the country for 49 days after [Nas] failed to show for a New Year's Eve concert."

According to the rep, Patrick and his son, Patrick, were immediately escorted by U.S. Embassy Officials on a flight to Lisbon. The two men are expected to arrive in Newark, NJ Saturday afternoon.

TMZ broke the story -- Allocco was kidnapped by an Angolan concert promoter last month and held by Angolan authorities, after the Angolan promoter wired Allocco $300K to secure Nas for a concert abroad ... and the rapper no-showed.

Nas paid the money back weeks ago -- but there was a lot of back and forth since ... and the ordeal dragged on.

Patrick's rep adds, "We are relieved that this nightmare is over and are looking forward to coming home to our family and friends who have supported us with their prayers and optimism during this ordeal."

Stupid comments! The promoters were not kidnapped! As soon as they found out that Nas wasn't coming to Angola they tried to flee the country, but were stopped by immigration. From there they were taken to a police station, and the American Embassy promptly interveened and put them on the best 5 star hotel in the country. Nas returned the money but the other performer didn't return it. Plus the Angolan promoter was asking for $75K for securing the venue, promotion of the event and so on.

Here is the website for the hotel where they stayed for 45 days -

He was lucky he didn't sue for lost income! As an american promoter sued the daughter of Nelson Mandela -

So please don't go on bashing other nations without thinking first.

I am not sure what you mean by kidnapping. He is crock that stole money over 400k of it. What happened to him would have happened in US as well. He was under house arrest while the Angolan justice system worked. I may say that it worked faster than the US one. :) In the US he would have stayed in jail probably.

Whoever said that Angola is a stupid country is very stupid and ignorant person. How can you support criminal behavior? Have you never heard of being under house arrest for criminal behavior? House arrest is common in America. Does that mean this is a stupid country? Dumbass.
