Whitney Houston Funeral

Bobby Brown Bailed

Over Seating Dispute

2/18/2012 11:16 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Bobby Brown was asked to leave the funeral of Whitney Houston today.
Bobby Brown was asked to leave Whitney Houston's funeral today ... after he got into an argument with Whitney's family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church with him ... TMZ has learned.

Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ ... but was seen leaving shortly thereafter.

According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We're told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party.

Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney's family was not having it.

We're told Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over ... but to no avail.

Rev. Al Sharpton spoke of the incident with Bobby as he left the church, saying, "He showed nothing but love and respect for Whitney. I wish people would leave Bobby alone" (see video below).

Brown issued a statement later on, saying, "My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions."

He continued, "I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene."

Good I'm glad the ******* got thrown out. If it weren't for him Whitney wouldn't have had the drug problems she had and would still be alive today.

Everyone is so indignant towards Bobby B. Like you all know what the f*** happened..yeah YOU were there. Get off his back and leave him alone. Whitney's family acted, like they always have, hateful and only trying to get pubilicity. If they weren;'t trying to get publicity then why make the funeral intop the celebrity circu it became? they first stated that this would be a family affair...yeah right! That is why half of Hollywood was there or invitied, and why they booked (Yes booked like this was a freaking GIG or something) Aretha Franklin to perform. EVERYONE IN THAT FAMILY IS SICK! Then..THEN they televised the whoe thing. ANYONE WHO WATCHED IS JUST AS BAD AS THE FAMILY. You all need freaking help.

OMG....I was Soooooooo disappointed in Whitney’s funeral. It was unnecessarily long, DW was awful. There was no need for her to go to the podium after every selection/presentation, I am sure all the participants had a program and could follow along easily, this would have saved so much time.
The sermon left much to be desired, the only enjoyable portions of the funeral were, Kevin Cosner, Clive Davis, Tyler Perry (he should have been the one to give the sermon) CC and R-Kelly. So fans don’t feel bad about not being allowed to attend, it was a blessing in disguise. The organizers of Whitney’s funeral should have spoken to the Michael Jackson team to help them organize a home-going service fit for a superstar like Whitney was.
On a scale from 1-10 I give this a 4.

Why did he have to be invited in the first place he was her husband of 12 yrs and the father of her child...and maybe the people he brought with him were members of his family who loved and wanted to pay their respects to Whitney. A funeral is not a place to show out and air family business

O_o

that's pretty sad if that is what actually happened. seems a bit far-fetched that a grieving family would be all that concerned about the seating arrangements at the funeral. shrug - who knows. but, then again, who really cares? he payed his respects and left. it's done with. nnnnEXT!

@O_o - you know common sense would say that the last thing a grieving family cares about is seating - but you would be surprised - funerals bring out the worst - it amplifies any family feuds, ppl start worrying about and get really pissed about the dumb things like seating -basically it seems to bring the worst out in ppl rather than every one sticking together to help one another grieve - at least it didn't get to fist to cuffs in the parking lot

'Well bobby should not be mad that he was not treated good at the funeral , he brought too many people and Whitney's family should not keep her away from her dad she may resent them later on for that

Bobbi Brown has a HUGE set of BRASS balls.
After all the damage he did to Whitney's life,
it was generous that her family invited him
much less him bring ANYONE extra. As far a him
"being there" for Bobbi Kristina, why start now?
Blow.... the less they see him, the better !!

This was a funeral...not a club where your celebrity{?}gets you entrance no matter how crowded it is. When you have yours bring the entourage.

Sad the BB had to bring his Being Bobby Brown TV show to the funeral. It was very considerate that the family put their feelings aside. God took care of it, proves the BB is a idiot

I don't know him but at the time they were together he got a bad rap for being a "bad influence" on her. Now its obvious the Whitney had her own set of problems (addiction) and it wasn't all Bobby's fault.

They knew he was coming with his children and should have made preparations. Bobby +2 is disrespectful when knowing how many children he has along with knowing that Whitney cared for and loved those children as well. They were aware of his intention to attend with them. Whitney's mother used the opportunity to once again lash out at Bobby due to her PERSONAL feelings toward this man. Although in great mourning, her thoughts, emotions, and feelings should have been focused on her daughters "wants" and grand-daughters "needs". I admit that I haven't been a fan of Bobby Brown for some years - not judging his relation ships or drug abuse - (as it is not my place) but him as an entertainer. But right is right - and wrong is wrong. They welcomed a multitude of people that ONLY showed Whitney love when running into her. Why not show the same respect for those with whom Whitney has reared?
God Bless to ALL who are in mourning. Praying for strength and Unity in this their time of grief.
