Whitney Houston Funeral

Bobby Brown Bailed

Over Seating Dispute

2/18/2012 11:16 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Bobby Brown was asked to leave the funeral of Whitney Houston today.
Bobby Brown was asked to leave Whitney Houston's funeral today ... after he got into an argument with Whitney's family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church with him ... TMZ has learned.

Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ ... but was seen leaving shortly thereafter.

According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We're told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party.

Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney's family was not having it.

We're told Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over ... but to no avail.

Rev. Al Sharpton spoke of the incident with Bobby as he left the church, saying, "He showed nothing but love and respect for Whitney. I wish people would leave Bobby alone" (see video below).

Brown issued a statement later on, saying, "My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions."

He continued, "I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene."

so every one is cannonizing whitney and demonizing bobby - but b4 we forget, bobby has been clean and sober for 5 years, whitney died because she is still an addict, and whitney has allowed her daughter to become a coke addict and a drunk too!- neither one of these 2 - bobbi or whitney - are all good or all bad - whitney in fact has probubly made way worse decisions then bobby - so b4 every here gets on their judgemental horse again, maybe you should think whitney is not all good, bobby is not all bad, and no one deserves the venom being spewed here = they both 2 flawed ppl - and (houstons family should see) w/ out bobby, there never would have been a bobbi/kris --- oh and as far as cissy and her family acting so bad towards bobby, maybe the should realize it's cissy or some one in her family selling every private and secret moment about this tradegdy to tmz - even bobby brown didn't sink that low!!!!!!

That jerk has to ruin everything because of his ego. I am happy to hear that he was not able to ruin Whitney's beautiful service.

Trust. These Baptist funerals always have more folks than were invited. So that wasnt it. Believe there is much more to this than the 9 people Bobby brought with him. Much more and this goes back a lot further. Sad painful times bring out deep resented emotions. Its just a shame that the two families couldn't put all this aside to a least after the burial. At the very least for the daughter who lost her mother.

Well the nine people that where with him was his other kids and his brothers......which are his daughters uncles and brothers and sisters .....so why should he have to leave his other kids outside ....no ......Whitney was the stepmother and sister n law to them ...so they should have been allowed in also

Dumbass! You +2 means exactly that. They expected a large turn-out, which is why they limited guests of guests to two... considering your daughter was already going to be there, two guests should've been two too many... who would you bring besides immediate family???

I'm sure if he wanted to, he could have gone into the service by himself (or with whomever else was actually invited) to be with his child. But should we really be surprised? He's the same guy who went on to perform in a concert the day Whitney died instead of leaving to be by his daughter's side. He's s***.

Why in the he|| would Bobby Brown being a 9 person entourage to Whitney's funeral, when he was invited 'plus two'? And then he gets mad because they won't seat all of them? Outrageous behaviour. Does this person (I can't refer to him as a man, because I don't think he is one) think about his daughter AT ALL? And what she's going through right now? Does he even think? Obviously, it doesn't appear he does. And to wear a leather suit to the funeral? Trying to stand out much, Bobby? The worst day of Whitney's life, imo, was meeting Bobby Brown; the only good that came from it was Bobbi Kristina.

I'm sure Bobby didn't feel comfortable it was expected...if you divorce your wife you won't get a good seat at her funeral..although I believe he has love for Whitney..their relationship didn't help the other privately.professionally yes.

What a complete ASS. Not a single thought for his daughter since Whitney died. She's a crackhead too because of her parents being infantile ego maniacs. Whitney had a sweetness about her though that Bobby seems to be lacking. What an ASS!!
