Whitney Houston Death

Hotel Guests Demand Refund ...

Hotel REFUSES

2/19/2012 12:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Multiple guests staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel the day Whitney Houston died claim their stay was absolutely UNBEARABLE due to commotion surrounding the singer's death -- and the hotel has done nothing to address their dissatisfaction.

TMZ spoke with several guests who stayed on the 4th floor when Whitney died -- the same floor Whitney had been staying on -- and they tell us ... the entire floor was on lockdown over the weekend, making their lives miserable.

We're told guests couldn't walk down a hallway without being hassled for their key cards by hotel security -- to prove they were, in fact, guests of the hotel.

Worse ... we're told law enforcement and EMS were running all over the hotel all weekend, creating an intolerable ruckus -- making it impossible to get a moment's quiet, let alone sleep.

When guests asked the hotel to refund their money, or offer a discount -- we're told the hotel refused ... instructing guests to file an official complaint either online or at the hotel's front desk.

A rep for the Beverly Hilton tells TMZ, "Given the extraordinary nature of the events of last Saturday evening, The Beverly Hilton took every precaution to protect the privacy of the Houston Family as well as the hotel guests who may have been impacted by the incident."

The rep adds, "The hotel cooperated fully with the Beverly Hills police which included securing the fourth floor to insure the safety and well-being of all guests ... and regrets any inconvenience that may have occurred in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s events."

Yes, the police had to do their job and the hotel accomodated that. A reasonable person would agree that the guests were disrupted and should be compensated. Sh*t happens and that is the cost of doing business. The hotel should have insurance for this. If they don't they need it. If there is construction going on at a hotel and guests are not warned in writing beforehand, they absolutely get a refund.

People that would demand money from the hotel did not have any sensitivity as to what happened. For God sake a person died. How would the hotel know that someone was going to die, especially Whitney Houston, someone who was suppose to be at Clive Davis' party. Come on people, stop the madness. The hotel is not responsible for something they had no control over. OMG, where is your compassion for the person who passed away. One would have to ask if you want your refund back because you couldn't afford to be there in the first place.

everyone of em should sue in a class action suit. get on it! the hilton owes each customer satisfaction. its too bad they never did more to check up on whitney. its a shame they can't honor a good nights rest by being cheap. this is a sham. eh harvey? what's the odds for victory for the consumer? i know what i'm saying on craigslist about this hotel. guess what? sue me. either the hotel gives up the cash for the night or offers another room coupon deal otherwise i go on craigslist and make fun of em. choice is theres. got it?

I'm sure most people paid with a credit card, why don't they just dispute their charges with the cc company?

I understand why they're pissed...keep in mind Clive Davis asked the police to keep her body in the room until after his Grammy party...and for some odd, unknown reason, the police complied. Bill Clive Davis.

I'm sure some of these guests will try to sue her estate too, for the inconvenience she caused.

Well, it is a Hilton Hotel so even if this specific hotel won't do anything I be corporate will since this will be a big embarrassment to them.

These guests need to get a life. No they shouldn't get a refund or a discount. They should understand. It's not the hotels fault it's just one of those things. They were part of history. Whitney was the best black female singer period and they got to experience something unfortunate but it was planned, it was an emergency and she was a big celebrity so the police had to make sure it wasn't a crime and had to protect evidence.

What the heck is wrong with you people? A person, a PERSON dies and all you can think about is how to cash in on it by getting your money back on a room you slept in anyway? Should Whitney have called in first to announce that she planned to die in that hotel room to warn potential guests against staying there. What the heck is wrong with these people? Disgusting.

Did the hotel at least offer to move them to another room once police cleared them? That would be the absolute least a respectable hotel could do.

Like she did it on purpose - did they also complain about the noise from the preGrammy party - they probably went there to try and get it or to see the celebs there - life (or in this case, death) happens.

True to form;people are devils and have no souls as who cares if there was noise, who cares if there were people everywhere. someone has lost their lives and others need to do their job. leave it to the rich and shame to even nerve up to ask for a discount and or refund. devils!!
