Rush Limbaugh

More Sponsors Running for Hills

After 'Slut' Statement

3/5/2012 11:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Rush Limbaugh is STILL hemorrhaging advertiser
Rush Limbaugh is STILL hemorrhaging advertisers -- several days after calling a Georgetown student a "slut" for asking the University for free birth control ... bringing his grand total to NINE lost sponsors.

Two sponsors -- Tax Resolution and AOL -- pulled their ads from his radio show today, following the mass exodus of advertisers like ProFlowers, LegalZoom and Citrix Systems over the weekend.

As for the other advertisers that have jumped ship -- bedding companies Sleep Train and Sleep Number, plus Quicken Loans and the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team.

Rush made the "slut" comment on the airwaves last week -- also calling student Sandra Fluke a "prostitute," after the Georgetown Law student testified before the House of Representatives on why birth control should be made freely available.

Rush offered a weak apology on Saturday -- claiming, "For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke."

So far, looks like his advertisers aren't buying it.

3/6/12 -- Just one day later, 24 additional sponsors have hit the "eject" button -- bringing the total to 33.

What happened to freedom of speach in this country?? His comments were a bit harsh, but he has a right to say what her believes just as all who want to burn him at the stake do. No one paid for my birth controll pills, and I don't want to pay for anyone elses either. Let her pay for her own or wait untill she's ready for children

you have GOT to be kidding me! People on this site cannot be this stupid... Birth Control isn't JUST for preventing pregnancy. If you dont know that then u REALLY need to do some research!!! Women use birth control for medical reasons everyday and preven ting pregnancy (postponing) until they are ready is just part of it. But... I am seriously shocked at the men and WOMEN! who don't have a understanding about birth control...wow

If men could have babies birth control pills would be covered by insurance..just like Viagra. As matter of fact men could get them free a Home Depot. As far a Rush is concerned..he is just a racist, sexist punk who sits on his fat ass and talks to other far right punks.

Any young woman to wants to brag about how much sex she is having to a bunch of dirty old political men, who spent the week eyeing up the interns, is crazy. Isnt sex a personal matter? Does she have to *#&% and tell? What's next? Will she want to talk about diarrhea? If she is giving it away and paying for all of the birth control, she is not only easy a/k/a slut, but she is stupid.

Dear Rush Limbaugh you *FAT, DRUGGED UP, DISGUSTING PIG*
I wish and I hope and I pray that you screw up again, get caught with illegal drugs and go to prison where YOU become somebody's SLUT.

You're nothing but an "entertainer", a clown for dumb rednecks' amusement. Unfortunately calling you a clown is an insult to clowns. Nevertheless, you need to put on your clown shoes and your clown pants, get on your circus bicycle and ride into the sunset with your gold digger wife. America has had enough of you and your derisive, hateful type.

P.S., how did you get the stupid name of "Rush"? Were you always the first to the buffet? Or maybe it's a nickname your old boyfriends call you because you're a minute man - always in a rush to get it over with and fall asleep. Have a nice life you lumpy loser.

I see by the comments that people still think this was about the gov and public paying for hormones. Hormones needed by people like me that have battled tumors and cyst on ovaries all my life. Hormones that help people with seizures. But by golly, no prob with insurance cos. and the little blue pill for men. REPEAT AFTER ME. THIS WAS NEVER ABOUT THE PUBLICS TAX MONEY PAYING FOR BIRTH CONTROL MEDS. BIRTH CONTROL MEDS ARE HORMONES THAT MILLIONS NEED FOR OTHER MEDICAL PROBLEMS. This girl was simply asking that her PRIVATE insurance add this medication to the list of medicines such as Viagra (isn't that used to get it up and have sex?) that you could aquire thru such private insurance co. with a co-pay...just like viagra. Stop assaulting women. I wish it were the men who had to take the birth control. This would be a mute topic if that was true. We are back in the 15th century. And by the way, I take these meds now and am an old lady who lives alone. They are the most expensive of the 8 meds I take every morning. Commentors should research the subject before they comment. This was Not about your tax dollars. Stop being sheep and listening to Bull O'Reilly.

So, it had to take Rush calling a girl a slut and a prostitute to have advertisers and stations drop him like a bad habit? I guess prior ignorant, divisive and hypocritical comments he's said in the past gets a pass?

HEY Harvey. She didn't testify to the House. It was a democrat sub-sub committee (think press conference) that was made to look like a real committee hearing. Check your facts.

I think she is lying, I don't think another woman can get her pregnant.

There are MEDICAL reasons, too, for why some women need to be on birth control that have nothing to do with it being used as a contraceptive. For example, it is one of the treatments for poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. So yeah, it SHOULD be covered by insurance.

I don't understand why birth control is such a hot-topic right now? Birth control is but Viagra isn't? There are married couples who use birth control too because they can't afford to have more children.

Good for all these sponsors to drop their sponsorship of this jerk. I am going to write each one a thank you letter.
