'Luck' Horse Trainer

'Sometimes S**t Happens'

The man who trained the third horse that died on the set of HBO's "Luck" is telling friends ... NO ONE is to blame for the fatality ... insisting the animals received exceptional care, but sometimes "s**t happens."

Sources close to Matthew Chew -- who trained and owned horse #3 -- tell us the people who looked after the horses are some of the best in the business ... who thoroughly examined the animals at least twice a day during production.

Chew has told friends ... the horse was simply playing around when it "misstepped" and fell down Tuesday morning ... suffering a head injury that required it to be euthanized on the set.

We're told Chew believes the incident was a freak accident ... telling one person, "We were just horribly unlucky ... sometimes s**t happens."

a long time Leno fan!

IF the horse wrangler improperly pulled the horse's reins back to "control it" as it reared up, it would throw the animal off balance and subsequent death.

'Chew has told friends ... the horse was simply playing around when it "misstepped" and fell down Tuesday morning ... suffering a head injury that required it to be euthanized on the set.'

According to the original TMZ story 3/13/12 at 5:07pm,

'Eyewitnesses tell us ... the horse suffered a fatal injury after rearing up, falling backwards and hitting its head on the ground, breaking its neck. It was then euthanized.'

Horse are intelligent animals that DO NOT play around when they are stressed, who is this guy kidding!?? He was handling a horse without knowing that much? Horses don't STEP without being certain for their safety first due in part to their sensitive thin legs relative to body weight. A horse can spook, rear up, fall back to his death IF reins are pulled backward.

One of the worst videos ever - the most beautiful gentle giraffe in an enclosed area with a circus animal handler beating it as hard as he can with a piece of iron/metal. The giraffe perished on video. Let's not allow this scene to ever play again.

Animal handlers have a responsibility to treat all gracious creatures properly or refrain from handling them.

I am Spartacus

too many people here think horses aren't fragile animals and are like humans, if they fall down they'll just get up without a scratch.
