Whitney Houston's Mother

Cocaine Relapse

From Comeback Anxiety

3/22/2012 3:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0322_cissy_houston_getty_ex

Whitney Houston's mother Cissy was shocked that her daughter was using cocaine at the time of her death but believes the relapse was triggered by anxiety over Whitney's comeback plans.

Sources very close to Cissy who have spoken with her in the last few minutes tell TMZ ... she believed her daughter was completely sober while shooting the movie "Sparkle."

But Cissy says as Whitney got closer and closer to the Grammys -- where Whitney would make her comeback move -- she fell prey to the drug.

Cissy is saying hearing that Whitney was using again is like reliving her death -- it's that painful.

how terribly sad for a mother. jeez people, and that includes HARVEY, let this poor lady be. regardless the degree of her denial (or more likely, pain at loss of trust yet again), she is grieving. how cruel to not leave her alone.

She's one of the very few people in America who was surprised by the "cocaine in her system" news.

I was married to an addict for years and let me tell you, they always have an excuse. It's how they make themselves feel better about what they're doing. It would be awful to say "I'm doing drugs because I'm an addict". If they have a reason, then they feel it's ok. Dislike this all you want, it's the truth.

Whitney Houston was a disabled woman. She could not work without her drugs. Putting her to work was like putting a gun to her head. A lot of big entertainers killed themselves with drugs before they had a comeback (Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Marilyn Monroe, etc...).

sad, sad, sad
My question is this, Whitney was very fragile emotionally and psychlogically and very susceptible to relapse. Why is it then that the her handlers did get her into a rehab program? One almost get the impression that no one cares for Whitney except Cissy. I found pat and Gary somewhat apathetic. When asked, "what will you miss most about Whitney?" He replied "I will miss singing duets with her.
Pat on the other hand, "She trusted me, and I am glad for that.".......................not to be judgemental but something seemed fishy.......

It's hard for her mother to accept that Whitney was using drugs again and could very well contributed to her death.
Can't blame anyone, she was an adult.

excuses excuses excuses... She was a loser and died one... It's a shame. She had a beautiful voice and she destroyed it... ALL ON HER OWN... nobody else was responsible so stop trying to blame..... I just can't understand why we idolize drug addicts..

An addict is always an addict.. thats why it is one day at a time...The world is full of people with addictions.. sometimes people overcome the addictions . other times the addiction over comes them..if we haven't walked a mile in there shoes. who are we to judge them..Her addiction alone doesn't define all she was.. she was a singer. actor. great humanitarian . daughter, mother, sister, Aunt , friend..and had one of the most beautiful voices that we were priviledged for years to enjoy..it is really pathetic how when alot of people found out that she had used cocaine ,how there saddness turned into judgement..a loss of life is a loss of life whether it be cancer from smoking. accident from drinking and driving or from use of drugs,,doesn't make it any less painful for those grieving from the loss..and really Whitney is gone so she is not listening ot reading the mean comments or the opinions of those who appointed themselves Judge, Jury and Executioners. so the only ones that your hurting are those who are left to live without her
