'The Bachelor'

African Americans Will Sue --

We're Not Wanted

4/17/2012 10:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" are about to get a thorny rose -- in the form of a lawsuit.

We're told the 2 plaintiffs -- both African Americans -- went to a Nashville hotel to audition for the role of bachelor. Christopher Johnson -- an aspiring NFL player -- claims when he arrived a producer asked him what he was doing there.

Johnson and the other plaintiff, Nathaniel Claybrooks, both say they were taken to the side of the room and left out of the normal audition process. Neither was called back, and they believe it's because of their race.

They will be filing a class action lawsuit in federal court Wednesday AM. We're told ABC, Warner Horizon Television, Next Entertainment, NZK Productions and creator Mike Fleiss, will all be sued.

First of all, you can tell who the majority is. They're always the ones who say "the race card is played out". If you are white in America, then you do NOT understand what it is like to be black in America. Yes, racism still exists. I know you all would like to "pretend" it doesn't, but it does. Even some of the so called non-racist people have had a racist thought creep into their heads at one point or another. Think…when was the last time the bachelor, or bachelorette, a black American. NEVER!!!! There's always the "token" black person who has 0 chance and gets cut ASAP. You can deny the lie, but you can't deny the truth. It's about representation. Truth is, America doesn't want to see a black bachelor or bachelorette. You don't believe me? Counter my statement with FACT. You won't be able to.

Is anyone really surprised? We have an affirmative-action President in the White House right now. Everyone knew (or should have known) that Obama was in no way qualified to be the leader of the free world. But whites felt like they could atone for slavery by voting for him. And blacks? Well, they vote strictly on skin color. btw, as someone else stated: I sincerely doubt that blacks are the minority in this country now. But they don't want to admit that, because then they're no longer considered a "protected class" the minute they are born. I want a white girl to try out for the Miss Black America contest, and I want that no-good hack, Gloria Allred, to represent her when she's turned down.

Chris Johnson, you're ugly as dirt. Nobody wants to see you on national tv. The networks should have the right to pick and choose who will make them money.

I have to side with the Producers this time, the "Black People" will be better served if someone came up with an African American version of "The Bachelor / The Bachelorette" show.

CA Girl

Isn't EVERYTHING these days about Race? Any day now Sharpton, Holder, Obama, Jackson, will all begin making statements about Racism on The Bachelor/Bachelorette. This is HEAVEN for all the lawyers. HEAVEN.

People should stop complaining...ENOUGH ALREADY>>>>> stop playing the race card...wether your Black or White it should not matter, the show sucks, and be thankful not to be on these ridiculous reality shows....they all should be going off the air soon....the shows are a total joke....the same lame people year after year....and no one ever makes it relationship wise...i can think of only 1 couple who made it, and that's Trista and Ryan, and they married and now have 2 kids.....everyone else broke what does that tell you....again, be happy not to be chosen for this JOKE OF A SHOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>PERIOD>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm tired of my own people crying foul every time something doesn't go our way. It makes it harder for the hard working person who achieved success with work ethic and character rather then color.

I smell a spin off called the Black Bachelor and Black Bachelorette on BET.

Mike L

Ever think they don't want you because you're ugly? This lawsuit proves you're an ugly ni**a inside, and we don't know how you look outside.

It's not that they're not wanted. It's because they arent stupid enough to go on national tv and fight for a man or a woman that aint all that

It has been 10 years. Mainstream TV isn't ready for a minority bachelor. There is still problems with sitcoms (being on mainstream TV) and you think America will accept a white woman openly competing for the chance to fall in love with a minority? Highly unlikely. This is type of infractions (problems with women, minorities and such) Disney is known for so this isn't shocking.
