WWE Star Ted DiBIase Jr.

Hard Body, Soft Heart

EXCLUSIVE

Ted DiBiase Jr. doesn't just portray a good guy wrestler for the WWE, he is an actual good person who gave the family of a sick kid a big boost when he stopped by for a visit and even led them in prayer.

DiBiase Jr. was at the Batson Children's Hospital in Mississippi filming a documentary about his faith and his charity for sick and underprivileged children.

During his tour of the hospital, DiBiase learned about a 10-month-old boy with Adenylosuccinate lyase deficiency, an extremely rare disease which causes psychomotor retardation and which could lead to epileptic seizures as well as autism.

DiBiase Jr. was so moved by the kid's story, he met the boy and his family and even led a prayer for him -- which, we're told, deeply touched them.

Good work to be doing. These days with snap-ginger expectations because of modern technology, we all tend to get a little impatient. And complain about things that really aren't a big deal.
Meanwhile, children's hospitals are full of kids with cancer and other diseases, who barely have a normal childhood, rarely get out of the hospital to play, and suffer through disease and intrusive painful medical procedures.
My respect to anyone who works for, or volunteers for, or donates to, kid's health organizations and hospitals.

People like TD Jr don't care about the credit or recognition. They do it because they can, they do it because they care, and they do it because they realize they are blessed and there are others out there who are far less fortunate. People that rip on him for it are just angry people who lead miserable lives.

I remember way back when Ted Sr. was in my town for an autographing session and looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. Then a few months later, he became born again, and the stories coming out of this family are pretty cool.

Thank you to this awesome guy for bringing a LOT of joy to our family on our 3 week hospital stay. As the mother of this child, he is an awesome, genuine, and kindhearted man. Asld is extremely rare as this is one of the four infant cases in the USA. And less than 50 ever in the world. We are blessed daily with a miracle. We thank God for happy moments. If you don't think he's truly moved, I would suggest visiting a children's hospital. So many children like ours spends weeks fighting for their lives. We are blessed to have true people that care about all of the children that are fighting for their lives! Thank you Ted DiBiase, our family appreciated this prayer more than anything! We are continuing to believe in a miracle for our angel

They don't publicize it, but the WWE has been very involved with charities and situations like this for decades. There are stories like this that would amaze you. I'm not a Hulk Hogan fan, but he's always been EXTREMELY involved in things like Make-a-Wish. Good for Ted Jr. and good for them all. Nice to see at least ONE positive story on a gossip site once in a while.

AGENTS HOSTING BONE MARROW DRIVE FOR KAI QUINONEZ, RAFFLE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE FOR IPAD

Kai Quinonez is like any 8-year-old boy.

He is active in sports, loves playing with the dogs and hanging out with his brother Klaus.

But that changed in October when he was diagnosed with severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare blood ailment that affects one in a million people.

Kai is not alone in his fight against this rare ailment.

Keller Williams Realty in cooperation with the Los Alamitos Police Officers Association (LAPOA) will be hosting a bone marrow drive with Be The Match, on March 26 between 11 am and 3 pm. Be The Match is supplying the Bone Marrow Match Kits.

Long Beach Memorial is also hosting a blood drive in conjunction with the bone marrow drive.

"Officer Chris Karrer has been phenomenal in working with Be The Match and helping to get the bone marrow drive off the ground," said Elaine Armogida, team leader at Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos, where Kai's dad Gus is an agent. "He heard about our raffle and volunteered to help in any way he could."

Additionally, personnel from the Long Beach Police Department (part of National Law Enforcement Cancer Support Foundation) will also lend a hand to help with the bone marrow drive.

"We are also thankful for the help from Commander Josef Levy, from the Long Beach Police Department," added Armogida. "He is the President of the foundation and has offered to help where needed." Levy himself is a cancer survivor.

The Be The Match Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating an opportunity for all patients to receive the bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant they need, when they need it.

"But the local community has rallied around to help Kai's family try to deal with not only taking care of Kai but to help with the staggering medical costs," said Armogida. "The agents at Keller Williams have been raffling off tickets for people to win an IPad and have the bone marrow drive in an effort to help Kai."

"Getting the bone marrow sample is very easy." said Armogida. "They do a simple swab on the inside of your cheek and it's done."

Aplastic anemia is a condition where bone marrow does not produce sufficient new cells to replenish blood cells. The condition, per its name, involves both aplasia and anemia. Typically, anemia refers to low red blood cell counts, but aplastic anemia patients have lower counts of all three blood cell types: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, termed pancytopenia.

Kai is undergoing 2 six month rounds of chemotherapy and weekly transfusions of blood and platelets. He recently had to return to the hospital after getting an infection.

For more information on helping Kai or purchasing a raffle ticket, please call Elaine Armogida at (562) 626-8623. To reach Officer Josef Levy please e-mail him at josef.levy@longbeach.gov. To reach Officer Chris Karrer please e-mail at ckarrer@losalpoa.com.
