Michael Jackson

Black Surgical Mask Fetching

Over $20,000 at Auction

4/26/2012 12:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0425_michael_jackson_mask
A black surgical mask that Michael Jackson allegedly wore the night before he died in 2009 has hit the auction block -- and the bids have already surpassed $20,000.

According to the auction house -- Nate D. Sanders Auctions -- MJ wore the mask (above) while rehearsing for his "This Is It" concert tour on June 24th, 2009 ... the singer's last ever rehearsal.

The auction house claims the mask  -- made of silk fabric, personally designed by the King of Pop -- contains visible traces of MJ's stage make-up along with a strand of his black hair.

One of MJ's former bodyguards was in possession of the mask, and swears by its authenticity. MJ famously wore surgical masks outdoors as a form of disguise.

The auction ends April 30th -- and bidding has already reached $21,190. The auction house estimates the mask will sell for $50,000-$150,000.

Still the stupidity on here. LOL. And probably just one person behind it. Guess it makes them feel better to be such a ass. Whatever floats their boat.

Thanks MiMi for posting those links. Looks like he has been trying to sell this thing for a while now. What a total s***bag. No telling what him and the others and Murray's lame ass grabbed on their way out of that house. Its a shame he had such lowlifes surrounding him.

Hi Kim

and you are most welcome! I have been wondering if this is the same body guard who was also trying to sell MJ's orange pants.

Will have to look around for that info later.

Thriller! Michael Jackson's orange pants up for sale

-

The garments worn by Michael Jackson during his legendary final performance, captured on film, "This Is It" is up for auction. Considering the fact that earlier auctions of Jackson garments fetched huge prices, is reason enough for Nate D Sanders, Inc, the organisers of the auction to be confident this time too.

In the legendary last performance, Jackson wears his signature fedora, a sport coat and bright orange pants. This week, the bright orange pants (along with certificates of authenticity and photographic evidence) and other Jackson items will be auctioned by Nate D. Sanders, Inc., one the world’s leading dealers of Hollywood memorabilia, autographs, rare books and gold coins.

The pants, which will be auctioned on Thursday, May 20, are one of the last-know garments worn by Michael Jackson to be captured on film. Other Jackson garments and props have recently capture record-breaking prices at auction. White sequined gloves, a mainstay of Michael Jackson’s wardrobe, have sold recently for more than $400,000. On May 5, a diehard Jackson fan from Costa Rica paid a whopping $170,000 for the glove Jackson used during his 1983 classic “Motown 25” television performance of Billie Jean (where he debuted the “moon walk”). At another auction in New York City, one of Jackson's flashy gloves captured a fetching $420,000 from a buyer in Hong Kong, China.

The winning bidder in the Sanders auction will get the Jackson-worn pants, photos of Jackson wearing the pants during the taping of “This Is It,” a letter from Jackson’s personal bodyguard (the former owner of the pants) who worked for Jackson until the day of his death on June 25, 2009, and a copy of the bodyguard’s paycheck confirming his employment and relationship with Michael Jackson.

For more than 30 years, Nate D. Sanders has been one of the industry’s most respected experts and dealers. A collector since the late 1970s, Sanders was already widely known in collectors’ circles when he opened his auction business in Los Angeles in 1990. Today, he conducts twelve major auctions every year drawing bidders, collectors and investors from around the world. In recent years, Sanders has been increasingly viewed as an expert on Hollywood memorabilia.

Dose Of Reality

That's funny, he used the mask as a disguise, ha ha ha. Meanwhile he dressed like a reject from Liberace's army.
If he want to disguise himself, he should have tried to look normal and not like a reject from the alien autopsy videos.

The only thing to surpass the freakshow that was Michael Jackson, is the freakshow that is his fan base. I always love how they say to "get a life" and "move on" when themselves can't move beyond where MJ was 20 years before his death. Yes, move on you desperate old heifers, MJ was never going to be your prince charming coming to rescue you from your miserable lives, you never even had a chance. In the same way you speak against MJ's non-supporters for believing the negative press, you insist on believing the fairytale that his publicist fed you. You were played for fools for so many years and you still ask for more.

Dose Of Reality

This is also further proof that MJ made terrible decisions on who to surround himself with. This was a reoccurring theme throughout his life. Everyone around him was just as much of a mess as he was. His family, his employees, his doctors and everyone else. Of course the biggest example of this was allowing someone into his home and around "his children" to give him surgical anesthesia every night to "cure his insomnia" caused by trying to stop his decades long addiction to prescription drugs given to him by several other corrupt doctors. He couldn't even have someone properly clean the pig sty he lived in.

All the negative aspects of his life are ultimately his own responsibility.
