'Biggest Loser' Wedding

5/2/2012 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0501_biggest_loser_wedding_launch"Biggest Loser" contestant Joe Messina's recent nuptials violated the one cardinal rule of weddings everywhere -- GET EVERYONE WASTED -- because booze was NOT allowed at the party.

TMZ broke the story ... the former Season 13 contestant tied the knot recently in Michigan -- and 12 other current and former contestants attended -- but the wedding party lacked a key ingredient .... alcohol.

Sources tell us ... the groom and his "Loser" guests are serious as a heart attack when it comes to their new healthy lifestyle -- so they axed all forms of alcohol from the menu (alcoholic drinks contain a lot of calories). Thankfully, we're told the crowd -- which was pretty religious -- didn't drink much anyway.

But Joe's reign of terror didn't end there -- we're told he also subbed a real wedding cake for low-fat pumpkin cake pops ... and served only food from the "Biggest Loser Cookbook" ... such as:

-- Grilled Chicken with Mango, Thai Quinoa Salad
-- Tossed Salad
-- Fresh Fruit Salad
-- Asian Chopped Salad
-- Salad Salad

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse ... we're told the guests actually WORKED OUT before the ceremony.

No one was injured.

No booze, that would explain the small turn out.

Geez what is wrong with you people, leave them alone. That is the kind of wedding they wanted. How would all of you who are married have people rip you and your special wedding day apart? How would you all like it if someone didn't approve of how your wedding day went and go well I only give it a few months. You people on here are just awful, you all must be some seriously unhappy people in life that or just a flat out mean horrible people. Geez they look happy leave them alone. So what they didn't serve drinks or unhealthy least they know how to have fun without getting drunk and at least they ate food they actually liked and wanted and that was healthy. Geez no one is ever happy with nothing. Now if they would have had beer and junk food present everyone would have ripped them apart for being unhealthy and getting fatter from all the unhealthy food. How pathetic!

Wow. Shame on them for caring about their health and wanting to promote their new healthy lifestyes at their wedding. Come on, TMZ. A wedding is NOT about booze, it's about the bride and groom's special day and celebrating their commitment to each other. Your staff needs to grow up and start acting like mature, responsible adults!

dry wedding is not that unusual if you're not from California. . . duh. in the south east it's seen more often. But, I would rather go to a wedding w/ alcohol than not:)
